China Taisan’s net profit soars to $11.8m for 3Q on Asian Games demand

SGX Mainboard- and Taiwan Stock Exchange-listed China Taisan Technology Group Holdings, the producer of knitted performance fabrics, posted a seven-fold year-on-year (y-o-y) increase in net profit to RMB60.7 million ($11.8 million) for 3Q2010, backed by a strong turnover of RMB322.2 million, which went up 117.0% y-o-y riding on the strong demand for sportswear arising from the coming Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games.

Synear posts 45% fall in 3Q net profit to $3.7m

Synear Food Holdings, the China manufacturer of dumplings and frozen food, say net profit for the third quarter ended September 30, 2010 fell 45.2% to RMB18.95 million ($3.7 million) due to higher cost of sales. Revenue fell 2.4% to RMB 398.90 million.

Its earnings were also hit by the higher amortisation and depreciation costs for its new Zhengzhou and Guangzhou factories.

Synear expects the economic climate and business conditions to remain very challenging in 4Q due to the rising raw material prices and labour costs. As a result, it is postponing the start of the operations at its new Guangzhou plant.

United Envirotech completes Asia’s largest underground membrane-based wastewater recycling plant

Mainboard-listed United Envirotech, one of the leading membrane-based water and wastewater treatment solutions providers, says it has completed Asia’s largest underground municipal Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) plant in Guangzhou city.

The contract, worth a total value of RMB264 million ($51.9 million), has a design capacity of 100,000 cubic metres per day. With an underground depth of 20metres, the Jing Xi MBR plant takes up the smallest ground area among all wastewater treatment plants in China, 1/10 of a traditional water and wastewater treatment plant.

United Envirotech’s 1Q net profit more than double to $4.2m

Mainboard-listed United Envirotech says it achieved a net profit growth of 284.9% to $4.2 million for the first three months ended 30 June 2010 (1Q FY2011) on the back of a 152.8% growth in revenue to $22.4 million in 1Q FY2011.

United Envirotech says the growth was due to higher engineering income recognised mainly arising from the Guangzhou EPC project which has been completed.

Synear Food off 1.9%; 2Q results below view: Deutsche Bank

Synear Food (Z75.SG) off 1.9% at $0.26 on 2Q10 profit fall, management’s warning of challenging business conditions in coming year, according to Dow Jones.

Earnings down 10.6% on year at RMB41.1 million ($8.2 million) as increased operating expenses offset modest revenue growth. China-based frozen food maker’s guidance hardly changed from 1Q10’s, with company still deferring commencement of operations at its new Guangzhou plant until market conditions turn favourable.

United Envirotech secures $6m contract to upgrade membrane bio-reactor plant

Mainboard-listed United Envirotech, the membrane-based water and wastewater treatment solutions provider, says its subsidiary in China, Novo Envirotech (Guangzhou) Co Ltd, secured a RMB30 million ($6.1 million) contract to supply its Membrane Bio-reactor (MBR) system for the Phase II of the existing MBR wastewater treatment plant in Taixing Chemical Industrial Park located at Jiangsu Province, China.

Yeo Hiap Seng acquires land in Foshan to relocate its manufacturing facilities

Yeo Hiap Seng says the group has agreed to acquire 25,000 sqm of land in Sanshui, Foshan, China, from Foshan Municipality Sanshui Central Technology District Xinan Industrial Park.

Yeo Hiap Seng plans to move its current manufacturing facilities in Guangzhou city to Sanshui as it has been notified by the Guangzhou authorities to cease manufacturing at its current premises by 2012. The new factory is expected to be operational by early 2012.

Memstar Tech wins $12.3m contract to supply membrane products to future Guangzhou wastewater treatment plant

Memstar Technology has been awarded a RMB60 million ($12.3 million) contract to supply membrane products to a wastewater treatment plant being built by the Guangzhou municipal government.

The plant, with a capacity of 100,000 cubic metres/day, is based on Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technology and upon its completion in June 2010, will be the largest MBR plant in China.

Mainboard-listed United Envirotech, one of the leading membrane-based water and wastewater treatment solutions providers, has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to build one of China’s largest municipal Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) plants in Guangzhou City. The contract, which is worth a total of RMB264 million ($54 million), is expected to be completed by June 2010 and to positively impact FY2010 performance.

The aggregate contract value of RMB264 million includes a one-year operations and maintenance contract for the plant.
