Mainboard-listed Hai Leck Holdings, the integrated service provider mainly for the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries, says for its first quarter 2011 ended 30 September 2010, net profit was $3.3 million, up 5% over the $3.1 million it earned in the preceding corresponding period.
Turnover was $24.4 million compared to the $31.1 million a year back primarily due to lower revenue from Project services as most major projects contracted have been completed or are nearing completion.

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. invested $64 million into its Foxconn Singapore unit, the Taipei-based contract maker of electronics said in an exchange filing today without specifying the purpose of the transaction.
In a separate filing, Hon Hai said it won’t comment on an Economic Daily News report today it won orders to make five million notebooks for Dell Inc. next year.

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., the world’s largest contract manufacturer of electronics, said its board approved plans to invest an additional US$140 million ($190 million) into a Singapore-based unit.
Hon Hai plans to buy a further 140 million shares of Foxconn Image & Printing Product at US$1 each, the Taipei- based company said in an exchange filing today. The transaction is a long-term investment it said, without elaborating.

Hai Leck Holdings, the integrated service provider of scaffolding, corrosion prevention and insulation works, says it posted a net profit after tax of $6.3 million for the six months ended 31 December 2009 (1H2010), an increase of 6% over the $5.9 million it made in the previous corresponding period.
For the same period, Hai Leck made $68.7 million in revenue, a rise of 50% or $22.9 million from $45.7 million in the previous corresponding period. The increase is due mainly to higher revenue from on-going projects in the Project Services unit that were mostly contracted in FY2007 and late-FY2008.

Cosco Corporation (Singapore) says its subsidiary, Cosco (Zhoushan) Shipyard Co. has delivered a 57,000 dwt bulk carrier, the M.V. Dai Shan Hai. The bulk carrier, classed by NK, measures 189.99 metres long, 32.26 metres wide and 18 metres, has a draft of 12.8 metres and speed of 14.2 knots.

Mainboard-listed Hai Leck Holdings says wholly-owned subsidiary, Hai Leck Engineering, has been awarded new maintenance contracts by Shell Eastern Petroleum (SEPL) and Shell Chemicals Seraya (SCSL) to undertake scaffolding, hot and cold insulation and painting works and refractory services at the plants on Jurong Island and Pulau Bukom.
Hai Leck has been Shell’s resident contractor for these services for over 10 years.
