The Hague Tribunal has granted Ramush Haradinaj temporary release from detention over the winter court recess, from Dec. 17 until Friday Jan. 14. A similar request, however, was denied to his former fellow KLA member Lahi Brahimaj, the court said.

Kosovo Albanian politician Ramush Haradinaj has filed a motion for temporary release from prison during the upcoming holiday recess.
As a reason for the temporary release, the former member of the so-called KLA, who is at the Hague Tribunal accused of committing war crimes, stated that his wife was pregnant and due to give birth in mid-January.

Serbia’s Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković welcomed on Wednesday the Hague Tribunal decision to overturn its verdict that acquitted Ramush Haradinaj.
The premier, who is visiting Bosnia today, told reporters in Sarajevo that he believed “new evidence against Haradinaj has been found”.

Several people used rocks to attack a line of cars that transported Hashim Thaci near DeÄani last night. The Kosovo Albanian prime minister was not injured in the incident, it was announced. Several cars were damaged.

The Hague Tribunal has set October 28 as the date for the arraignment of ethnic Kosovo Albanians Ramush Haradinaj, Idriz Balaj and Lah Brahimaj. The three are former members of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). After the 1999 war in the province, Haradinaj pursued a political career and was prime minister of the Kosovo Albanian government at one point.
