Thaci vows to step up rebuilding work

Kosovo PM Hashim Thaci says that the provincial government will continue to allocate funds for all those wishing to return to their homes in northern KM. Kosovo media report that Thaci said that the government would cooperate with “all the relevant factors“ so that reconstruction of houses in that part of Kosovo could continue “at a faster rate,“ including in those areas where that currently is not the case.

EULEX chief meets with K. Albanian leaders

EULEX chief Yves de Kermabon says a protocol between the EU mission and Serbia’s MUP is not related to the so-called six point plan. He met in PriÅ¡tina yesterday with the Kosovo Albanian leaders, President Fatmir Sejdiu and PM Hashim Thaci, to discuss the signing of the police cooperation protocol.

Rasmussen in Kosovo on Thursday

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has arrived in Kosovo today for the first time since he took office early this month. NATO headquarters in Brussels announced earlier that Rasmussen would meet with KFOR Commander Giuseppe Emilio Gai, Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, and Minister of the Kosovo Security Forces Fehmi Mujota.

Thaci: Belgrade considering recognition

Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci says that Belgrade has begun considering recognizing Kosovo’s unilateral independence. Serbian Kosovo Minister Goran Bogdanović called Thaci’s statements a marketing ploy.

Thaci: Independence irreversible

Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci says that the process of Kosovo independence is irreversible and that the ICJ’s opinion can have no bearing on this. Asked whether there was the remotest chance of resuming dialogue over status with the Belgrade authorities, Thaci said that this was Belgrade’s wish, but that it did not come into the question, as Kosovo’s independence had progressed very far.

EU chief to call for better cooperation with EULEX

EU Foreign and Security Policies Chief Javier Solana is continuing his final tour of the region in that capacity with a visit to Priština. According to reports, Solana is due to meet in Priština with Kosovo President and Prime Minister Fatmir Sejdiu and Hashim Thaci.

Kosovo PM Hashim Thaci says Kosovo will be represented “in all summits as a state”. The Kosovo Albanian leader is in Dubrovnik, Croatia, where he is attending a gathering, and where he commented on FM Vuk Jeremić’s absence.
