Health care reform and you

With a vote of 219 to 212, the House of Representatives passed the health care reform bill, and President Obama signed it into law Tuesday.  This massive overhaul of the United States medical system will have an immediate effect on Americans seeking health coverage (check out the CNN explainer for more info and specifics).

Health care town halls

As Congress begins its August recess, many lawmakers are using the break to hold town hall meetings with constituents.

At the top of the agenda for many is the Obama administration’s efforts to overhaul the U.S. health care system.

Passions over health care reform

Since the vote on a sweeping overhaul of the U.S. health care system on Sunday, almost a dozen Democrats legislators have reported threats and vandalism. Some say they found smashed office windows while another senator says he discovered the gas line at his home had been cut.

 

We’re asking you to take a look at the recent threats and boiling emotions from both sides of the aisle. Why is this happening? What is it about health care – or the political climate – that’s causing such a powerful emotional response?
