Chip Shot: Intel Helps Deliver Secure Health Information

An updated version of the Intel® SOA Expressway for Healthcare, a high-performance health information gateway used by ISVs and system integrators like IGI to share information inside hospitals and with community caregivers and health information networks, is available for download. Using the Intel gateway for system interface and message processing within its ORBIT Portal, IGI has helped Newark Beth Israel Medical Center securely share emergency room patient records, immunization information and Medicaid medication history with New Jersey’s state-run health information exchange. Socialcast Analytics Suite Helps Filter Out Social Media Buzz

Socialcast Oct. 6 will announce Social Business Intelligence, a suite of analytics software for its microblogging platform. SBI runs network analysis to ferret out informal connections between individuals and groups, looking at posts, comments and liking activity over time.
With SBI, Socialcast joins companies such as Jive Software in blending business intelligence tools into enterprise social media as a way to give customers an idea of what corporate employees are saying in social networks.

Gist Helps Users Manage Their Social Networks From Outlook, Gmail, Salesforce.com

Gist launched to free beta today as a social network aggregator of sorts, pulling profile information on people and companies from social networks such as Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, as well as from 20 million-plus blogs, and more than 50,000 news sources. Gist analyzes the contacts, then ranks and prioritizes the importance of contacts based on the frequency of messaging interaction a Gist user has with those contact. A Gist app for the iPhone coming in October.
