RS-OHR relations worsen

International High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina Valentin Inzko has halted implementation of the Republic of Srpska law on the status of state property.

The decision to halt the implementation of the law will be in effect until the Constitutional Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina announces its ruling.

Mostar again seat of SPC eparchy

Mostar has once again, after 18 years, been declared the seat of the Eparchy of Zahumlje and Herzegovina of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC).
Bishop Grigorije will be seated in this town in the western part of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

“EU supports whole Bosnia-Herzegovina”

President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy has stated in Sarajevo that the EU will continue to support Bosnia-Herzegovina as a whole.

According to him, the EU will support Bosnia-Herzegovina “which is capable of speaking with one voice and which is making a solid progress on its European path”.

“Serbia poses threat to region”

Former member of Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency Ejup Ganić thinks that Serbia is endangering stability of the region.

He says that Bosnia-Herzegovina only has formal relations with Serbia instead of essential diplomatic ones.

Foreign minister to visit Finland

Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić will visit Finland on Monday, October 18, at the invitation of Finnish Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb. Stubb and Jeremić will discuss bilateral relations between Finland and Serbia as well as Serbian accession to the EU and regional issues of the Western Balkans, including Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

RS: Party bans TV channel from reporting

An international media organization has strongly condemned the ban imposed by a political party on Alternativna Televizija (Alternative TV – ATV). SEEMO, a network of editors, media executives and leading journalists from South and East Europe, said the TV outlet is now unable to access and report on the election locations of Aquana and Banski Dvor in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

South Stream could reach RS

Russia and RS have signed a document which considers the possibility that South Stream pipeline should reach the Serbian entity within Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Moscow document was signed by Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik and Russian Minister of Energy Sergei Shamtko.

“Bosnia can’t recognize Kosovo”

Serb member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency Nebojša Radmanović stated that Bosnia has not way of recognizing Kosovo’s independence.
“There is no possibility of Bosnia-Herzegovina recognizing the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo,“ he said.

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not discuss a platform the country would present at the UN General Assembly session on September 9.

Tadić, Bosnian Federation president meet

Serbian President Boris Tadić met on Thursday in Belgeade with President of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina Borjana Krišto. They assessed that under the Dayton Peace Accords, agreement among all three constituent nations in Bosnia-Herzegovina is a prerequisite of any internal changes in the country.

Dodik criticizes new British FM

Republic of Srpska (RS) Prime Minister Milorad Dodik has once again accused “foreigners of interfering too much in relations within Bosnia-Herzegovina”. The Bosnian Serb entity premier said that new British Foreign Minister William Hague was “playing a bully” when he said that “some muscle should be shown” in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Former Bosnian general dies

Bosnia-Herzegovina Army General Rasim Delić died this morning in his apartment in Sarajevo, Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina TV reported. The cause of death is unknown, but the media are saying that the former general had been seeing doctors recently.

Frattini: Bosnia meets requirements

Tadić attends commemoration in Bosnia

Dodik “not negating Bosnia”

Republic of Srpska (RS) Prime Minister Milorad Dodik said that his party does not negate Bosnia-Herzegovina, but that it will not allow RS to be negated. He told Sarajevo daily Dnevni Avaz that Bosnia-Herzegovina is “a part of an international project called the Dayton Peace Agreement within which there is the possibility to build certain things together to turn Bosnia towards Europe”.
