A press release states that the album was “written in a cabin
built into the side of Mount Meakan, an active volcano in Akan National Park, on the island of Hokkaido, Japan. It
was recorded in an abandoned train station in Detroit with the blackest white dude we all know, Chris Koltay (Liars,
Women, Deerhunter, Holy Fuck, No Age). Chris, on tour after finishing the record, commented: “This album will

It’s the tour Styx fans have
been waiting for. Styx–Tommy Shaw (vocals, guitars), James “JY” Young (vocals, guitars), Lawrence Gowan
(vocals, keyboards), Todd Sucherman (drums) and Ricky Phillips (bass), along with the occasional
surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo—are getting ready to head out on the U.S. concert
trail again this year. However, for this round of dates, the band has an extra-special treat planned – it won’t be a
typical Styx show. Along with the classic hits, the band will be performing 1977′s The Grand Illusion and
1978′s Pieces of Eight in their entirety. Both albums spawned such hit singles and Classic Rock radio
standards as “Come Sail Away,” “Renegade,” “Blue Collar Man” and “Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man).”

Gov’t Mule will host Island
Exodus II. The event will take place over four nights from January 27-31, 2011 at Breezes Grand in Negril, Jamaica.
According to the Island Exodus website, Gov’t Mule will play 3 shows and Warren Haynes will play a sunset solo
show. Guest musicians including Ron
Holloway (and more to be announced shortly) will sit in. The band is also offering a 6 night package, January
27-February 2 which will include a very unique “locals only” show in Negril on Tuesday February 1. All 6 night
packages will include tickets and round trip shuttle to this show.
Activities such as the Poster Signing, Danny Louis’ Golf Outing and Matt Abts’ Drum Clinic will also return alongside
new activities to be announced shortly.

AMD reportedly will bring its new Turbo Core power-optimizing technology to its upcoming six-core Phenom II X6 “Thuban” desktop processor. Turbo Core, like Intels Turbo Boost feature, reduces the power in inactive chip cores while bumping up the power in the active cores, which improves the performance of the active cores.
