New GarageBand ‘09 Lessons Include Rush, John Legend

The GarageBand ’09 Lesson Store has added three new Artist Lessons, interactive videos that let you learn to play a song from the artist who made it famous. Reports Dan Moren (macworld.com): “Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson contributes two lessons, ‘Tom Sawyer’ and ‘Limelight.’ The new offerings are rounded out by John Legend, who explains how to play his song ‘Ordinary People’ on the piano.”

Microsoft`s Early Concepts for Retail Stores Include ‘Answers Bar’

Microsoft retail stores have been kept heavily under wraps ahead of their fall launch, at least until a massive slideshow detailing early concepts for the stores leaked online. Intended to compete head-on with Apples own retail offering, the stores will feature an Answers Bar for dealing with product issues, kiosks and wall space devoted to new hardware and software, and possibly even birthday parties for a fee.
