Keppel T&T invests in new Tianjin Eco-City logistics centre

Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation (Keppel T&T) says it will enter into an agreement with Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Investment and Development Co. for the land use rights for the development of an integrated logistics distribution centre within the Eco Industrial Park (EIP) of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City (Tianjin Eco-City) in China.

Hyflux +3.0%; Well placed in China water space: OCBC

Hyflux (600.SG) +3.0% at $2.41, vs STI +0.1% with just over half its 50-day average volume traded already, after the water treatment firm says it won deals to develop 3 water projects at Hechuan Industrial Park in Chongqing City, China.

Hyflux will invest around US$45 million ($58.3 million) in 3 BOT (Built-Own-Transfer) projects, which it will fund via internal resources and will operate the plants (2 wastewater treatment and 1 potable water treatment) over a 30-year concession period.

United Envirotech target lifted to $0.63 by OCBC

OCBC Investment Research lifts United Envirotech (U19.SG) target price to $0.63 from $0.52 to factor in higher free cashflow growth rate as some of China-based wastewater treatment firm’s newly-completed projects start contributing from October. Keeps Buy call, says Dow Jones.

OCBC expects more projects to come following recent win of RMB200 million ($39.5 million) contract to build treatment plant in Neijiang Xi Industrial Park in Sichuan province: "We view the latest development as a further endorsement of the company’s market leading position in industrial MBR (membrane bio reactor) technology as well as the optimistic prospects for the wastewater industry in China."

Shares off 2.1% at $0.465.

United Envirotech secures $6m contract to upgrade membrane bio-reactor plant

Mainboard-listed United Envirotech, the membrane-based water and wastewater treatment solutions provider, says its subsidiary in China, Novo Envirotech (Guangzhou) Co Ltd, secured a RMB30 million ($6.1 million) contract to supply its Membrane Bio-reactor (MBR) system for the Phase II of the existing MBR wastewater treatment plant in Taixing Chemical Industrial Park located at Jiangsu Province, China.

Yeo Hiap Seng acquires land in Foshan to relocate its manufacturing facilities

Yeo Hiap Seng says the group has agreed to acquire 25,000 sqm of land in Sanshui, Foshan, China, from Foshan Municipality Sanshui Central Technology District Xinan Industrial Park.

Yeo Hiap Seng plans to move its current manufacturing facilities in Guangzhou city to Sanshui as it has been notified by the Guangzhou authorities to cease manufacturing at its current premises by 2012. The new factory is expected to be operational by early 2012.

SGX deepens listing collaboration with Jiangsu province

Singapore Exchange (SGX) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), Jiangsu Province, to deepen its listing collaboration in China.

In the MOU, SIP will promote the listing of companies from SIP and Suzhou on SGX; provide guidance to potential listing aspirants as well as facilitate regulatory processes and approvals from relevant Chinese authorities where necessary. The MOU will pave the way for closer collaboration between Jiangsu Government and SGX to meet the business funding needs of companies in Jiangsu.

Dutech Holdings to acquire land in Suzhou-Nantong Science & Technology Park

Dutech Holdings says the group has signed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire a piece of land in Suzhou-Nantong Science & Technology Park in Nantong, China.

Su-Tong Science & Technology Park is a new high technology park project located within the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area. The project is a joint development between the Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park and the Nantong City Government.

The group plans to acquire a piece of 90,667 sq metre land for its capacity expansion and a planned new project to manufacture continuously variable planetary (CVP) transmission system in collaboration with a US-based high-tech company.

Sembcorp opens 2nd industrial wastewater treatment in Nanjing

Sembcorp Industries says it has completed the second industrial wastewater treatment business in China. The 12,500 cubic metres per day plant in the Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park (NCIP) will be capable of treating industrial wastewater, including industrial wastewater with a high concentration of up to 4,000 milligrammes per litre chemical oxygen demand.

Federal’s Sichuan Panzhihua waste water recycling plant starts operations

Federal International (2000) says its first BOO (Build-Operation-Own) waste water treatment project — the Sichuan Panzhihua Vanadium-Titanium Industrial Park Wastewater Treatment Plant — has started commercial operations since Jan 1.
