Serbia’s best female tennis player Jelena Janković moved on to the semi-finals of the Masters Series tournament in Indian Wells. She defeating her Russian opponent Alisa Kleybanova in the quarterfinals match in straight sets (6-4, 6-4).

The Serbian national women tennis team did not make it to the finals of the Fed Cup World Group, as they lost to Russia. The Russians won the decisive point in the doubles match on Sunday, when Svetlana Kuznetsova and Alisa Kleybanova defeated Jelena Janković and Ana Ivanović in straight sets in the doubles match.

Serbia’s Jelena Janković has won the WTA Cincinnati Open, after she cruised to a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Russia’s Dinara Safina. Janković needed only 85 minutes to beat the world number one, reports said.
