Singapore employers added fewer jobs than initially estimated

Singapore employers expanded payrolls at a slower pace than initially estimated as the completion of some building projects prompted construction companies to hold back from adding new workers.

The city state added 20,500 jobs in the three months through September, compared with an earlier forecast of 24,100, the Ministry of Manpower said in a statement today. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 2.1%.

Highest Paid Enterprise IT Jobs in Demand for 2011

It’s never too early to start thinking about next year, especially when it comes to looking for a new job or asking for a raise. To help IT professionals out, eWEEK offers a countdown of the technology job titles in the United States with the most growth percentage between 2010 and 2011. The range for salaries& based on data published by staffing expert Robert Half Technology in its "2011 Salary Guide"& starts at a 4.5 percent increase and caps out at 5.5 percent. Robert Half Technology’s full list of job titles has increases as low as 0.4 percent for systems analysts and PC technicians, but we’ve excluded everything below 4.5 percent. Skills working across database and data management ranked with some of the most consistent increases for next year. The highest increase for executives will be the CTO at 4.3 percent, with the CIO and CSO (chief security officer) having only 3 percent increases. Vice presidents and IT managers fare even worse& in the 2 percent to 2.5 percent ranges.
