Pacific Healthcare Holdings says unit Pacific Healthcare (Indonesia) has entered into a joint venture agreement with PT Plaza Medical Nusantara to set up PT Pacific Healthcare Services Indonesia to operate and manage an integrated medical specialist and dentistry centre (including laboratory, pharmacy, and diagnostic, imaging and day surgery facilities) in downtown Jakarta to be known as Pacific Healthcare @ The Plaza.

Wilmar +1.2%; Briefing calms some property JV fears

Wilmar International (F34.SG) is +1.2% at $5.77, outperforming the STI, which is flat-to-lower; the company’s analyst briefing Friday seems to have soothed some fears over a loss of business discipline after its foray into property development.

DMG says after the briefing, it is “comforted” that the property JV “will not be detrimental to the company’s business focus”; the property business “will essentially ride on China’s urbanisation and rising wealth, which are the very same factors driving its agribusiness in China.”

UOB unit forms fund JV in China

United Overseas Bank said today its UOB Asset Management unit had been approved to set up a joint venture fund management firm in China with China Ping An Trust Co. and Sanya Yingwan Tourism Co.

The joint venture, named Ping An UOB Fund Management Co., will have a paid up capital of 300 million yuan ($59 million), in which UOB Asset will hold a 25% stake.

Ping An Trust, a unit of Ping An Insurance (Group) (2318.HK), and Sanya Yingwan will hold 64% and 11% of the remaining shares respectively.

Wilmar International signs JV deal with partners to develop properties in China

Wilmar International says wholly-owned subsidiary, WCA Pte. Ltd. (WPL), has entered into a master joint venture agreement with Kerry Properties (China) Limited (KPCL) and Shangri-La China Limited (SACL) to establish joint venture companies for real-estate development, operation, sale, leasing, property management and hotel development, operation and management in Bayuquan, Yingkou City, Liaoning Province, China.

OKP-Soilbuild JV wins $83.5m contract to build condo at Angullia Park

OKP Holdings and Soilbuild Group Holdings say their newly created joint venture company Forte Builder has won a $83.5 million contract from Angullia Development, an associate of China Sonangol International (S), to build a condominium housing development, comprising one block of 36-storey residential tower (total 54 units) with sky terraces, two basement carparks, a swimming pool and communal facilities on Lots 1374V TS 24, at Angullia Park in the River Valley Area.

St. James Holdings, Food Republic in JV to set up outdoor food court

St. James Holdings says unit Bar Street, has entered into a joint venture with Food Republic to operate a food court selling food and non-alcoholic drinks at the outdoor car park next to St. James Power Station. Bar Street and Food Republic will each hold 50% of equity interest in the JV company and will each provide a sum of $600,000 as interest-free shareholder loans to the JV company.

CSC Holdings enters into JV to offer jack-in piling services in Thailand

CSC Holdings has entered into a 49-51 joint venture agreement with The Pathumthani Concrete Co (Paco) to provide jack-in piling services in Thailand.

CSC says it is timely to introduce JIP services in Thailand due to the growth potential of this environmentally-friendly method of pile installation.

CSC’s partner Paco is one of the largest spun pile manufacturers in Thailand and is its long term business partner.

Paco’s spun piles have been accredited by the Singapore Concrete Institute and have been used in a number of projects in Singapore, including the redevelopment of the Royal Thai Embassy along Orchard Road.

 

Russia, Bulgaria set up South Stream JV

Russia’s gas giant Gazprom signed a deal with Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) on establishing a South Stream Bulgaria AD joint venture, RIA Novosti reports. The company will oversee the construction of the Bulgarian section of the South Stream pipeline.

Transcu unit forms JV to develop crude palm oil bio-fuel

Mainboard-listed Transcu says wholly-owned subsidiary Nanomizer Inc. has formed a jpint venture with Nedo (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) in Japan to undertake development of a new type of bio-fuel using crude palm oil.

If the project is successful and goes into commercialisation, Transcu’s subsidiary, Transcu Green Fuel will have the exclusive rights to promote, market, distribute and sell this system and its related products around the world.

Chip Eng Seng Corporation says the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, CEL Development (CEL) and Choicehomes Investments (CHI) have jointly tendered for and emerged as the top bidder of the land parcel at Pasir Ris E3 for Executive Condominium housing development. The purchase price for the site was $89.9 million or $263 psf per plot ratio.

Bank of China, Temasek JV to open first branches: Update

Bank of China and Temasek’s joint banking venture will open its first two China branches in January, a source close to the situation said on Wednesday, posing competition for another joint venture, between AgBank and Standard Chartered .

The branch opening marks the latest effort by Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, Temasek Holdings, to tap China’s solid growth by seeking opportunities to develop the mainland’s rural economy.

Bank of China, Temasek JV to open branches in China

Bank of China (3988.HK) and Temasek’s (TEM.UL) banking tie-up will open its first two branches in China in January, a source close to the situation said on Wednesday, boding well for the Singapore state investor to tap strong potential in China’s rural areas.

The joint venture, which now has 100 staff, would raise its headcount to 14,000 in the longer term as it plans to establish a 400-branch network across China over the next few years, the source said.

Warburg Pincus in jv with Singapore-listed firm

Singapore-listed Chinese developer CentraLand (CTLL.SI) said on Thursday that private equity firm Warburg Pincus (WP.UL) will invest 650 million yuan ($127.7 million) in two of its projects.

Warburg Pincus will invest the money in exchange for 31.71% of a joint venture whose assets are two specialty wholesale malls currently under development.

Mainboard-listed logistics player, Sinwa, says the Court of Appeal has allowed an appeal by its subsidiary, Sinwa SS (HK) Co, and granted leave for the latter to start a derivative action in the name of Nordic International Limited (NIL) against Morten Innhaug (Morten) for breaches of fiduciary duties.

NIL is a joint venture between Sinwa and Morten. The breaches of fiduciary duties arose from a purported assignment of a 2D seismic survey vessel to an entity controlled by Morten.

Best World International says unit Best World (Qingdao) Health Sciences Company has entered into an equity transfer agreement and joint venture agreement with Daeha Trading Co. to acquire 70% equity interest in Weihai Leempia Household Chemicals Co.

Dahae Co. is a trading company incorporated in South Korea. China-incorporated Leempia Co. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dahae Co. Its principal activities include the manufacturing, production and processing of cosmetics and marketing of the skincare and toiletries product.

Sinomem Technology says wholly-owned subsidiary, Suntar Investment, has entered into a joint venture agreement with Tacama Holdings, a company incorporated in Singapore and Sheridan Environment Protection, a company incorporated in India.

Under the Joint Venture, Suntar and Tacama will incorporate a joint venture company in Singapore.

Sempra, RBS sell part of JV to Noble Group: Update

Sempra Energy (SRE.N) and The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS.L) agreed to sell the retail commodity marketing operations of their joint venture to Noble Group (NOBG.SI) for US$317 million ($422.7 million) in cash.

The deal for Sempra Energy Solutions follows Sempra and RBS’ July sale of its global metals and oil business, as well as its European natural gas and power business for US$1.6 billion to JP Morgan Chase & Co.
