Khazanah Nasional, Malaysia’s state investment company, offered $1.18 billion to more than double its stake in Parkway Holdings to gain control of Asia’s biggest hospital operator.
Khazanah, which owns 23% of Parkway, today offered $3.78 a share in cash for 313 million shares of the Singapore- based company to expand its stake to 51.5%. The offer is 25% more than the $3.02 closing price yesterday for Parkway, which was halted from trading today.

Malaysia’s sovereign fund Khazanah offered to raise its stake in Singapore healthcare firm Parkway Holdings (PARM.SI) to 51.5% in a $1.18 billion deal.
Khazanah is offering $3.78 a share to increase its stake from the current 23.5% in Parkway, according to a statement from the Singapore group on Thursday.

Malaysia’s state investment company Khazanah Nasional Bhd reiterated that its US$44 million ($61.94 million) investment in Oriental University City Ltd (OUC) in Hebei province, China, was in line with its strategic objectives and financial returns requirements.
Clarifying its announcement on Feb 10, Khazanah said in a statement yesterday the investment in OUC was an extension of its China and Education strategy.
