“Investors want to build thermoelectric plants”

Energy Minister Petar Škundrić said that foreign companies are very interested in building thermoelectric plants in Serbia. “We talked, and some talks are ongoing, with potential investors and companies from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Russia, Austria, and China,” Škundrić said.

EPS to remain majority state-owned

Minister of Mining and Energy Petar Å kundrić 18 assessed that Electric Power Industry of Serbia, EPS, will remain in majority state ownership. “EPS will never be privatized according to the general model for selling enterprises,” Å kundrić said in Novi Sad, at the opening of an electrical relay station into which EUR 1.7mn was invested.

Dačić says fellow SPS minister to respect decision

Ivica Dačić said that Energy Minister Petar Škundrić will respect all decisions of the government regarding his position in the NIS shareholder assembly. The interior minister said that Škundrić will leave his position as the president of the NIS shareholder assembly if the government recommends for him to do so. Dačić is the leader, and Škundrić a high ranking official of the ruling Socialists (SPS).

Energy Minister: Crisis under control

Mining and Energy Minister Petar Škundrić said that the Serbian government has successfully mended the damage done by the financial crisis. Škundrić said that the government has secured a relatively high exchange rate for the dinar, foreign and financial liquidity, and relatively satisfactory internal financial liquidity, along with discipline.
