Dead Confederate Extend Tour Adds Dates With Alberta Cross

TOURING IN SUPPORT OF SUGAR OUT AUGUST 24

Dead Confederate

Athens, Georgia-based quintet Dead
Confederate
are extending their North American tour into the fall, adding co-headlining dates with New
York-based roots rockers Alberta
Cross
. Dead Confederate are touring in support of their upcoming sophomore release
Sugar, due on August 24 on TAO Recordings/Old Flame. Prior to the Alberta Cross dates, they’ll
be touring with Deer Tick and playing
a Bumbershoot after party with Surfer
Blood
.

Sugar, recorded by John Agnello (The Hold Steady, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr.), was shaped by touring with
legends such as Dinosaur Jr. and Meat Puppets and gave Dead
Confederate an increased appreciation for the early underground bands of the 80s and 90s that laid the foundation
on which their sound is built. As a result, the record explores new styles beyond the aching, bleak psychedelia with
which the band originally made their mark.

Dead Confederate is also sharing new music in exchange for an email address. Head over to DeadConfederate.com to download the appropriately titled track,
“Giving It All Away” (featuring J. Mascis, of Dinosaur Jr.). Also at DeadConfederate.com is some fantastic in-studio
footage with more new music!

Coheed and Cambria: U.S. Tour

Coheed and Cambria Announces First U.S. Headlining Tour in Over 2 Years

Coheed and Cambria

Coheed and Cambria will embark on its first North American headline tour since fall 2007 beginning April 22, nine days following the April 13 release of its fifth studio album, Year of the Black Rainbow (Columbia).

Produced by Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction) and Joe Baressi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool), Year of the Black Rainbow is the eagerly awaited prequel to – and likely the final installment of – The Amory Wars tetralogy chronicled on Coheed and Cambria’s four previous inter-related concept albums.

The deluxe edition of the record will include a 352-page Year of the Black Rainbow novel, penned by the band’s Claudio Sanchez and New York Times Bestselling author Peter David, as well as a “Making of” DVD featuring studio and interview footage and a Coheed and Cambria “Black Card,” providing fans early entrance to shows, discounts on band merchandise and exclusive downloads and offers.
