Independence Union President Branislav ÄŒanak says the state will face bankruptcy once faced with “demands from all unions”. “At one point the government will have many demands in front of it, and after answering those demands, the state will have to declare bankruptcy of that company called Serbia,” ÄŒanak told Radio B92 in Belgrade on Wednesday.

Opposition leader warns of “provocations”
One of the leaders of Serbia’s opposition, Velimir Ilić, says he learned that the authorities will try to provoke unrest at the forthcoming protest rally. The authorities will “try to repeat the scenario of provocation that took place at the rally in July 2008“, said Ilić, announcing the gathering in Belgrade scheduled for February 5.
Islamist leader returns to Tunisia

Tunisian police have detained two politicians close to ousted President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, state media report.
Ben Ali’s former adviser Abdelaziz bin Dhia and former Interior Minister and head of Senate Abdallah Qallal were now under house arrest, they said.
