Each year, Fortune magazine comes out with its list of "The 100 Best Companies to Work For" which is always a popular feature for its readers. IT companies are well-represented on the list. The list has become a major resource for job seekers and new college graduates. In fact, IT companies in general usually have reputations as being desirable places to work and develop careers. In this slide show, eWEEK focuses on 15 IT-related companies on the list& most of which we cover on a regular basis. Thinking about brushing up on your technology skills to remain competitive in the marketplace? While its no secret that experience matters, in this challenging job market, it helps to look at which skills are bringing in the most dollars before deciding which technology to focus on. Even though salaries remained stagnant for the second year in a row, there were some areas that had growth, such as in programming languages Python and Perl, or for FibreChannel experts in storage. The survey also found that despite nearly half of the people holding technology certifications, they may not be as helpful as expected, as 51.9 percent of the respondents said the certifications havent helped them find new jobs.
