Fresh from a run of fall dates that introduced Daniel Lanois‘ Black Dub as a sensational live
show that was met with rave reviews and accolades, the 4-piece super group comprised of Lanois,
Trixie Whitley, Brian Blade and Daryl Johnson, has announced a string of west coast
dates for the new year.
For those that have not had the privilege of experiencing the phenomenon that is Black Dub on stage, the group
have released a reel of live footage from their recent east coast run that demonstrates exactly what is not to be
missed. The video, which features live versions of the tracks, “Last Time,” “Surely,”

Black Dub, the highly anticipated self-titled debut album was released earlier this fall on Jive Records. Primarily

Band performed a rare concert event last week in Asbury Park, New Jersey’s historic Carousel House,
playing never-before performed songs live from the new 2-CD set, The Promise. Beginning
today, five songs from the show will stream online. The concert will be available until January 1. Check out

Filmed before an audience of approximately sixty fans, “Songs From The Promise” was directed and edited by
Grammy- and Emmy-winning filmmaker Thom Zimny and mixed by Emmy-winner Bob
Clearmountain. The concert features the world premiere E Street Band performances of four tracks from ‘The
Promise,’ plus “Blue Christmas.”

ICONIC BAND NAMED BILLBOARD’S TOP TOURING ACT FOR 2010

The year-end results are in and Bon
Jovi has again been named the #1 worldwide touring act of 2010, according to Billboard. The iconic band
has scored the top-grossing spot for the second time in just three years, an achievement that only Bon Jovi, The Rolling Stones and The Grateful Dead have earned.
Previously, the band’s “Lost Highway Tour” was named the #1
tour of 2008 by Billboard. Nearing three decades of an incredible career, Bon Jovi show no signs of slowing down.
Their recent Greatest Hits collection debuted atop charts around the world and the band will continue their series of
live dates well into 2011.
Bon Jovi’s “The Circle Tour,” which began in February 2010, sold out stadiums and arenas around the world to the
tune of 1.5 million fans in attendance and grossed more than $146 million. The U.S., Canadian, and UK legs of the
tour were promoted by AEG Live and included four sold-out shows to inaugurate the New Meadowlands Stadium as
well as multiple night stands in cities across the U.S., Canada and the UK, where the band played a 12-night sold-
out residency at London’s 02 Arena.
The band is currently closing out 2010 with dates in Japan, New Zealand and Australia, and will return to the road in
February 2011 with dates in the U.S., Canada and
throughout Europe. Tickets are on sale now and additional concerts in New York, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal,
Pittsburgh, and Dublin have already been added, due to popular demand (full itinerary below).

To celebrate her new album, The Party Ain’t Over, out January 25th via Third Man/Nonesuch
Records, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Wanda Jackson will play two special New York City and Los Angeles shows around its
release.
Wanda will be accompanied by the Third Man House Band featuring Jack White, who also
produced the album, on guitar. Tickets for the January 21 show at Music Hall of Williamsburg in NYC and the
January 23 show at the El Ray Theatre in LA will be available for Third Man Record’s Vault subscribers starting
Wednesday, December 15 at 11 am EST, and for the general public on Thursday, December 16 at 11 am EST.

THE ODYSSEY CONTINUES
Lovers of instrumental gold with a jazz soul know that Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey is a great fount of such richness. The relatively new incarnation of the quartet with double bassist Jeff Harshbarger joining Brian Haas (keys), Josh Raymer (drums) and Chris Combs (lap steel) earlier this year. The foursome has been busy building their road legs and diving into a new batch of exciting studio recordings since debuting Ludwig! this past June (JamBase review).
JFJO’s recent West Coast Tour found them recording a new album direct to lathe for a vinyl release coming next April featuring two new songs and two improvs. Next January recording will occur in the band’s native Tulsa, OK on Chris Comb’s Race Riot Suite at the legendary Church Studios with special guests Jeff Coffin, Steven Bernstein, Peter Apfelbaum and Mark Southerland. That release is due out next fall.
Jacob Fred will perform a very special New Year’s Eve show at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, where they will deconstruct and Fred-i-fy the music of Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Madonna. One hopes tape will be running so those of us not fortunate enough to be in Oklahoma at the dawn of 2011 will get to experience this splendid freak show after the fact. In the meantime, the band offers us a trio of fine live offerings, starting with a new B.Haas song entitled “Myers Flat to Miranda,” which is a stretch of the Avenue of the Giants in Northern California.
