Mapletree Logistics initiated ‘outperform’ by Credit Suisse

Credit Suisse has initiated Mapletree Logistics Trust (M44U.SG) at “outperform”, setting 98 cents target price, reported Dow Jones Newswires. Broker says logistics REIT offers good growth prospects; “we view it as a proxy to Asian logistics real estate with strong growth potential through acquisitions and developments.”

Silverlake Axis bags cards & logistics solutions contracts in China for $70m

Silverlake Axis has secured two new contracts in China for a total value of $70 million to provide cards (credit, debit and loyalty cards) and logistics IT solutions to HNA Group Co.

In the cards agreement, Silverlake Axis will grant the HNA Group a perpetual licence to use its card-processing software as well as implement and provide application support services for a period of five years for a total contract value of $20 million.

BBR Holdings unit wins $42m contract to build Phase 1 of Yang Kee Logistics Chemical Hub at …

BBR Holdings (S), the specialist engineering group, has secured a $42 million contract from Yang Kee Holdings to construct Phase 1 of the Yang Kee Logistics Chemical Hub at Jurong Pier.

The design-and-build contract was clinched through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Singa Development. Work on the five-storey warehouse building with drive-up ramps serving each floor has already begun and is scheduled to be completed in early 2011.

CWT plans sale and leaseback of 2 properties to prepare for Cache Logistics Trust listing

CWT, the global supply chain logistics solutions provider, says it is planning a sale and leaseback agreement of CWT Commodity Hub and CWT Cold Hub in connection with the listing of Cahe Logistics Trust (CLT).

Both logistics facilities, with a total value of $443 million, are part of CWT’s primary assets and close to PSA Terminals, major ports and central business district.

Mapletree Logistics Trust rated buy

DBS Vickers Securities in a Jan 22 research report says: Mapletree Logistics Trust (MLT) reported 4Q09 results in line with expectations. Gross revenues and net property income came in relatively stable at $50.8 million (-3.1% y-o-y, flat q-o-q) and $44.9 million (-0.4% y-o-y, +2% q-o-q) respectively.

Mapletree Logistics Trust says it has signed a conditional Sale & Purchase Agreement with  supply chain management company CEVA to acquire a warehouse in Changi South for $34 million. Completion of sale is expected within 1Q FY2010.

15 Changi South Street 2 consists of a fully air-conditioned five-storey warehouse facility with ancillary offices and basement carpark. It will have a GFA of 23,176 sqm and is on leasehold land expiring in October 2044.

CWT expands container logistics business to Malaysia

CWT says its container logistics arm OCWS Logistics, one of the largest container depot operators in Singapore, has expanded its operations to Malaysia.

Since January, OCWS has started operating a 217,800 sqft container depot at On Dock Depot, West Port in Port Klang, Malaysia through its wholly-owned subsidiary CWT Container Logistics Sdn Bhd.

Located in the southwest of Port Klang, the busiest port in Malaysia, West Port is one of Malaysia’s leading private seaport which grew based on its expertise in handling transshipment cargo.

CWT in talks for sale, leaseback of logistics facilities

CWT is in confidential discussions regarding a proposed sale and leaseback of its logistics facilities, it said in a statement responding to a query from the Singapore stock exchange today. It also said that no definitive agreements have been reached or approvals obtained.
