The soundtrack to this is a lost recording of a new song called “your sweet boom”… never heard before and never to be heard again. 1,2 Zen explosion and we out!”

Dosh To Release Tommy 4/13
DOSH SET TO RELEASE FIFTH ALBUM, TOMMY, APRIL 13
Dosh |
On April 13 Dosh (Martin Dosh) will release his fifth album on Anticon Records, titled Tommy.
In setting out to create this album Dosh had two goals in mind. First: Get loose. 2008′s Wolves & Wishes took a step in this direction by way of its guests – freewheelers like Bonnie “Prince” Billy and Odd Nosdam – but Dosh records are well-known for their impeccable arrangements. So much so that Andrew Bird used Wolves‘ “First Impossible” as the rhythmic backbone for a song on last year’s critically acclaimed Noble Beast LP.
Dosh’s second goal seemed to be in direct conflict with the first: To conceive yet thicker terrain for his already seething soundscapes. More drums. More vocals. And new to the Dosh catalog, lots of low end. Against all odds, Tommy skirts critical mass but stays organic, is never overwrought, and miraculously avoids becoming cluttered. Instead, this unique brand of maximalist, rhythm-driven post-rock sweeps lilting beauty, serious beats and even airy moments into its comely whirlwind.
Tommy Track Listing
1. Subtractions
2. Yer Face
3. Number 41
4. Town Mouse
5. Loud
6. Airlift
7. Country Road X
8. Call The Kettle
9. Nevermet
10. Gare de Lyon
Dosh is on tour now with Eyedea and Abilities; complete Dosh tour dates available here.

Hardcore/Punk Rock/Reggae Super Group
Launches World Tour This Fall In California
Norwood Fischer by Jake Krolick |
Are you ready for the ferocious punk/ metal lines of bass guitarist Norwood Fisher of Fishbone? For the snarling blasts of thrash metal and virtuoso guitar leads provided by Rocky George of Suicidal Tendencies? Pounding tribal drum/ metal rhythms from D.H. Peligro of the Dead Kennedys? The jaw-dropping stage performance and vocal range of Lyon Rowland of Hawaiian Lyon Human Rights? These talented musicians come together to form the super group Mr. Green All-Stars, who are launching their world tour across seven continents this October, beginning in their home state of California.
Mr. Green All-Stars describes themselves as “misfits of the world who believe in freedom of expression—no matter what the cost.” The members of this super group are known for their unique, energetic hybrid of punk rock and reggae, with lyrics that address political and human rights issues, as well as their incredibly skilled musicianship. Their high-speed music evokes the world of action sports, as well as a sense of anarchy and freedom, and their blend of shout-along melodies and driving hooks encourages crowds to join in at their performances.
The Mr. Green All-Stars announced their first album, Seeing is Believing, in 2006. H.R. of Bad Brains contributed vocals to four tracks, including the Rolling Stones’ cover “She’s A Rainbow,” and he will also lend his unique punk rock/ reggae vocal style as a guest performer on the 2009 tour. The tour’s second guest star, Jamaican engineer and dub originator The Scientist, also co-engineered the All-Stars’ album, along with Dave Aaron, engineer for Snoop Dogg and Sublime.
Mr. Green All-Stars plan to release their second album, You Can’t Put Me In a Box, in 2010. In the meantime, they’re kicking off their “Seeing is Believing” world tour with performances at Canes in San Diego and The Dub Club in Echo Park, Los Angeles in October 2009.
Chance to spend some star bucks – space artefacts up for auction

The UK’s largest private collection of space artefacts, which includes meteorites and rocks from the Moon and Mars, is being put up for auction.
More than 170 items, collected by self-proclaimed meteorite chaser Robert Elliott, are expected to fetch more than £500,000.
Among the most notable pieces is the remaining part of the Hambleton meteorite, found in Yorkshire in 2005.
The Lyon and Turnbull auction will take place in Edinburgh on 18 August.
Mr Elliott found the 5.8kg remnant of the Hambleton meteorite beside a forest track in North Yorkshire. It is expected to fetch between £60,000 and £90,000.
"If I hear of a sighting I leap on a plane and head to the area and try to find a piece of space rock"

The collection also features a helium tank from the Russian Salyut 7 spacecraft which went out of control and fell to earth as a fireball.
Rocks from two different parts of the Moon, a piece of the Vesta asteroid and a piece of Mars rock are also going under the hammer.
Mr Elliott, who has been collecting space artefacts since he was a young boy, said the sale did not spell an end to his collecting days.
He added: "I have collected meteorites from around the world since I was a child.
"If I hear of a sighting I leap on a plane and head to the area and try to find a piece of space rock.
"They are incredibly beautiful when you slice them open and I find it incredible that they were once hurtling through space."
‘Serious collectors’
Also for sale is one of the oldest meteorites known on earth, the Lake Murray meteorite, which was found in rock over 110 million years old in Oklahoma.
The Glenrothes meteorite, which was the first to be found on UK soil by Mr Elliott in the summer of 1998, is also up for sale along with part of the famous Park Forest meteorite which fell in Chicago, Illinois, peppering the area with space rocks, hitting and damaging several homes.
Special interest items include part of a witnessed fall in Iowa of the Estherville Mesosiderite and the Barwell Meteorite, also known as the "Christmas Meteorite", which fell to earth on Christmas Eve 1965, in Barwell, Leicestershire.
Auctioneer Gavin Strang said: "Lyon & Turnbull are boldly going where no other auction house has gone before in holding the first auction of meteorites and space memorabilia in the UK.
"We expect a great deal of interest from around the world with serious collectors heading to Edinburgh for the sale."

Right to rap

By David Chazan
BBC News, Paris
A 27-year-old rapper from Normandy, nicknamed by some the "French Eminem", is at the centre of a political storm over censorship in France.
OrelSan has seen 10 of his concerts cancelled recently after the former Socialist presidential candidate, Segolene Royal, and other politicians complained that his lyrics encouraged violence against women.
"If you censor this, you could end up censoring many respected authors"
Stephane Davet
Le Monde
Ms Royal even threatened to withdraw the public subsidy from one prestigious festival, Les Francofolies in La Rochelle, in her capacity as head of Poitou-Charentes regional council.
The organisers dropped OrelSan, whose real name is Aurelien Cotentin, from the bill shortly afterwards, complaining that Ms Royal had "positioned herself as a master-blackmailer".
The move led the governing Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) of President Nicolas Sarkozy to accuse Ms Royal of attacking freedom of expression, and of "intolerable" interference.
‘Fiction’
Ms Royal and other critics were particularly outraged over a song by the 26-year-old called Sale Pute, roughly translated as "Dirty Bitch", which is about a man who wants to break the bones of his unfaithful girlfriend.

"I hate you, I want you to die a slow death. I want you to become pregnant and lose the baby," he chants in one verse. "You are just a pig who should go straight to the slaughter house."
But OrelSan says the song, which he no longer performs in public, was never meant to be taken seriously.
"This song tells the story of a man who sees his girlfriend cheating, comes back home, drinks and writes her an e-mail in which he insults her," he says.
"But it’s a fiction. It’s nothing real. I didn’t write it about my ex-girlfriend or anything so you can’t really take the song personally. I play a role in it, that’s all."
"It’s like a book or a film about a murderer or a criminal," he adds.
Historical parallel
OrelSan’s new album, Perdu d’Avance, has been removed from public libraries in Paris because of concern over what feminist and women’s groups say are his sexist, homophobic and violent lyrics.
But the French Culture Minister, Frederic Mitterrand, nephew of the late President Francois Mitterrand, says OrelSan, like other artists, should be free to express himself and that his concerts should not have been cancelled.

Mr Mitterrand drew a parallel between the rapper and the 19th Century French poet, Arthur Rimbaud.
"Rimbaud wrote much more violent things that went on to become classics," he said.
However, Ms Royal said the rapper’s work was offensive to women and that the issue was not censorship.
Women’s groups argue that the law should be as tough on sexism as it is on racism.
Regional councillor Michelle Loup says OrelSan’s songs "are full of hatred and violence against women".
"If he wants to do that, OK, but we consider that public money shouldn’t finance it," she adds.
Ms Loup and other local politicians have led a lobbying effort to persuade local authorities to drop him from festivals which they are helping to finance.
Disaffected youth
But many commentators agree with the government that this comes dangerously close to censorship.
"Art doesn’t have to be politically correct," says Stephane Davet, a music journalist on the newspaper Le Monde. "If you censor this, you could end up censoring many respected authors."
"They want us to be exactly like them"
French youth
Mr Davet says politicians should try to tune into what rappers have to say about disaffected young people.
He points out that rappers were predicting riots in French suburbs long before they happened in 2005.
OrelSan, he says, "gives a very interesting description, a pretty dark description of a generation of frustrated, white trash kids, born with a PlayStation in their hands, spending their time on the internet, looking for sex websites, and one should listen to that instead of saying, we should censor him".
At the Gare de Lyon railway station in Paris, I came across groups of teenagers practising dance moves as if the station concourse were a studio or a gym.
Not surprisingly, they supported OrelSan, although several of them told me that they did not like their younger brothers and sisters to listen to rap songs with violent lyrics.
They said politicians did not try to understand their generation.
"They want us to be exactly like them," one youth told me. "They don’t try to help us and they want to take away our personality."
That is also a predicament recognised by OrelSan himself. In one of his less controversial songs, he raps: "Old folk don’t understand what’s going on in the heads of the young."
David Chazan’s report can be heard on BBC Radio 4′s PM programme from 1700 BST on 29 July.</p

Owen handed United No 7 shirt
• Ferguson gives new striker Ronaldo’s shirt number
• Owen will line up alongside Rooney and Berbatov
Sir Alex Ferguson has handed Michael Owen the prized Manchester United No7 shirt. The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Newcastle United striker will take over Cristiano Ronaldo’s shirt and his place in an attacking line-up containing Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov.
The United youngsters Daniel Welbeck and Federico Macheda will both be given a chance to prove they are worthy of the accolades that have been bestowed on them. “They are both young players – but young players with ability always get a chance here,” said Ferguson.
The United manager confirmed he made a bid for Karim Benzema, only to be rebuffed by the Lyon forward, who instead became part of Real Madrid’s extraordinary spending spree.
With a world record £80m burning a hole in his pocket following the sale of Ronaldo, United had the funds to compete. But Ferguson refuses to be drawn into a bidding war for any player beyond the level he thinks is acceptable. He has already recruited Antonio Valencia and Gabriel Obertan in addition to Owen.
“There are some amazing numbers being talked about, not all of them realistic,” Ferguson said. “It is very difficult to get value now. In a way we benefited through the sale of Cristiano, although that figure was non-negotiable.
“But I feel we have a good squad, which meant there was no need for knee-jerk reactions. We asked about Benzema and we had a value for him. Lyon have done well because they got €42m [£36.3m] but I think we took a sensible view.”
Ferguson rules out more signings

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says he will not make any further signings during the summer.
United have brought in Michael Owen, Antonio Valencia and Bordeaux’s Gabriel Obertan to replace departed forwards Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez.
Ferguson revealed he had bid for Karim Benzema, who joined Real Madrid, but insisted he had no further targets.
"It is the end of our business," he said. "Stories about who we are supposed to be getting – forget it."
United pocketed £80m from Ronaldo’s world record transfer to Real Madrid and the Old Trafford club had been expected to spend a sizeable proportion of the funds on new players.
Among those to be linked with a move to the Premier League champions are Brazilian forward Douglas Costa, French playmaker Franck Ribery, and Spain striker David Villa.
But Ferguson feels the market is now over-inflated and he does not want to pay over the odds for players.
Real Madrid, for example, have spent in excess of £170m this summer in capturing Kaka from AC Milan, Benzema from Lyon and Ronaldo.
606: DEBATE"We can now forget about signing fantasy players and focus on our squad for the season"
Dean_Machine89
And Ferguson added: "There are some amazing numbers being talked about, not all of them realistic. It is very difficult to get value now.
"In a way we benefited through the sale of Cristiano, although that figure was non-negotiable.
"But I feel we have a good squad, which meant there was no need for knee-jerk reactions.
"We asked about Benzema and we had a value for him. Lyon have done well because they got 42m euros but I think we took a sensible view."
Instead, Valencia has arrived from Wigan, 20-year-old winger Obertan has been recruited and Owen was signed on a free transfer after his contract with Newcastle expired.
And the England striker has been handed the number seven shirt – the shirt vacated by Ronaldo.
Owen will add extra experience to an attack that still boasts plenty of established talent in Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov, plus youngsters Danny Welbeck and Federico Macheda.
"There is no question that Michael will score a lot of goals for us"
Sir Alex Ferguson
Ferguson hinted that Welbeck and Macheda, who scored vital goals at the end of last season, will be given opportunities to play their part.
"They are both young players – but young players with ability always get a chance here," added Ferguson.
Owen, meanwhile, has vowed to recapture his best form and show he will be an important part of the United team.
"I am hungry to do well and if this challenge doesn’t create a hunger and put a spring in your step and a smile on your face then nothing will," he said.
"I honestly believe I can still do well in a top team like Manchester United."
Ferguson praised the desire of Owen to prove his critics wrong and is confident the 28-year-old can rediscover the scoring touch that made him one of Europe’s most feared strikers.
"His experience is vital and with Michael you will see the experience he will give us in the penalty box," commented Ferguson.
"There is no question that he will score a lot of goals for us and he has been great for years and years.
"You always have to be aware of him in the last third."</p
