Straits Trading’s unit Malaysia Smelting plans secondary listing on Mainboard

The Straits Trading Company says Malaysia Smelting Corporation Berhad, its subsidiary listed on Bursa Malaysia, has appointed CIMB Investment Bank Berhad and CIMB Bank Berhad (Singapore Branch) to advise the board on a proposal for a secondary listing of ordinary shares of RM1.00 (43 cents) each in MSC on the Mainboard of SGX.

Malaysia Smelting is the world’s third-biggest tin producer.

China Minzhong Food Corporation seeks listing on SGX Mainboard

China Minzhong Food Corporation is seeking a listing on the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange and has lodged its preliminary prospectus.

Although China Minzhong did not say how much it is planning to raise from the share sale, it says it intends to use the IPO proceeds to increase production and processing capacity.

The IPO will be jointly underwritten by J P Morgan, Kim Eng Corporate Finance and Macquarie.

Koon Holdings gets nod to upgrade to Mainboard

Koon Holdings, one of Singapore’s largest civil engineering, reclamation and shore protection specialists, says it has received in-principle approval from the SGX for an upgrade to the Mainboard.

The listing and trading of the group’s shares on the Mainboard will start on Thursday, Feb 4.

Singapore Exchange proposes mainboard admission criteria changes

Singapore Exchange, the operator of the city-state’s securities and derivatives markets, has proposed revisions to its mainboard admission criteria, it said in a statement today. It is also proposing the lising of special purpose acquisition companies, known as SPACs.
