WINTERSLEEP ANOUNCE NEW ALBUM, NEW INHERITORS
BAND OFFERS TITLE TRACK FOR FREE DOWNLOAD / U.S. TOUR WITH MATT POND PA BEGINS JUNE 4

Wintersleep

Halifax indie rockers Wintersleep have announced the release of their new album, New
Inheritors</b
. Set for a June 1 self-release, this collection of rousing, inspirational rock songs was recorded in
Montreal and mixed in Glasgow with Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Teenage
Fanclub
). The end result may be some of most expansive, dynamic, dark and courageous rock music you’ll
hear this year. To get fans excited, the band is offering title track, “New Inheritors”, for free download at www.wintersleep.com. Beginning June 4 in Philadelphia, PA,
Wintersleep will join Matt Pond PA for a 4-week North American tour.

While the band’s lyrics have usually focused on the personal, the songs on New Inheritors lean towards a
bigger worldview. The narrator is a voyeur, commenting on situations rather than being in those situations itself. Moments and memories are alluded to across multiple songs, and an overarching theme of alienation and
despondency come up repeatedly. But make no mistake – this is not a miserable record. From album opener,
“Experience The Jewel” to the closer “Baltic,” New Inheritors is an intoxicatingly beautiful album full of
meticulously-crafted rock songs.

New Inheritors is the follow up to the bands critically acclaimed album, Welcome to the Night Sky, which saw them win a Juno Award for “Best New Band,” and open for Paul McCartney, Pearl Jam and Editors.

Matt Pond: The Dark Leaves

MATT POND TO RELEASE THE DARK LEAVES APRIL 6

Matt Pond

From a cabin in the woods outside of Bearsville, NY – where there’s not much to do but watch the grass grow up with the coyotes, deer, turkeys and bears – Matt Pond (The Wooden Birds) let go of all those studio entanglements and hacked off a piece of his own fate. Trusting in the flicker at the end of the tunnel, Pond will release The Dark Leaves April 6.

After almost giving up on the world outside the woods, Pond, with the invaluable aid of Chris Hansen (engineer, co-producer), returns with this new effort. Additionally, Matt and Chris composed the motion picture soundtrack for the feature film “Lebanon,” premiering Spring.
