The Dead Weather: Spring Dates

THE DEAD WEATHER ANNOUNCE SPRING U.S. TOUR DATES

The Dead Weather

The Dead Weather has announced a 13-city Spring jaunt that includes appearances at Coachella and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Tickets are available now for subscribers to The Vault, Third Man Records’ groundbreaking online subscription service, and available to the general public starting Friday, February 5.

The dirge rock four-piece, consisting of celebrated musicians Dean Fertita (Queens of The Stone Age), “Little” Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, The Greenhornes), Alison Mosshart (The Kills) and Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs), have traveled the world over since their debut Horehound was released in the summer of 2009 – leaving in their wake storms of fans enthralled by the bluesy rock quartet’s gritty rhythm and incessant energy.

This newest series of dates follows the band’s first-ever Australian tour.

Dream Theater:New Zealand/Australia Tour

PLANS FOR SOUTH AMERICA IN WINTER-SPRING AND A RETURN TO U.S. IN SPRING

Dream Theater

2009 continues to be a watermark year for Dream Theater. Having achieved a #1 debut on the Billboard European chart and 12 Top Ten album chart debuts around the world including the U.S. with their 10th studio release, Black Clouds and Silver Linings (JamBase review), the progressive metal masters are currently finishing up their second European tour this year before they head down under to Australia and New Zealand.

The band recently launched the overseas leg of their “Progressive Nation” tour – hitting 15 countries – with a run of shows in Scandanavia, where audiences exceeded 5000 per venue (see the JamBase review of this year’s U.S. Progressive Nation tour here). While on tour, the band is shooting footage for their upcoming video for “Wither,” an epic power ballad from the new album. A special EP of multiple versions of “Wither” is now available via online retailers.

Dream Theater – James LaBrie (vocals), John Myung (bass), John Petrucci (guitar, vocals), Mike Portnoy (drums, percussion, vocals) and Jordan Rudess (keyboards, Continuum) – will wrap their European leg on Halloween in Ljubljana, Slovenia, after which they’ll take a month break before launching their Down Under trek December 1, with special guests TBA. This will encompass seven shows in New Zealand and Australia, wrapping December 12 in Perth.

Look for the band to head to South America in the winter-spring, followed by another U.S. leg also in the spring.
