The days of “don’t ask, don’t tell” in the military may be numbered. Plans are in place to ease enforcement of the policy regarding gay and lesbian service members pending review, and House and Senate committees have approved legislation to repeal it. Critics fear the repeal could hurt troop morale, but advocates say it is important for these members of the military to serve openly.
