TOUR BEGINS IN MARCH
Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band will launch a new tour “to major cities across North America” starting in March, Seger’s first time on the concert trail since his tour of 2006-07. The exact cities and dates will be announced shortly, although a map that flashes in a brief video on his web page shows Michigan, Ohio, Massachusetts, New York and Missouri. Umphrey’s McGee and iClips will broadcast the inaugural UMBowl event on April 24, and all fans who pre-order the live broadcast will be able to stream four previously unreleased shows filmed last early. The four shows will be available for streaming on the days leading up to UMBowl, and for 30 days following the UMBowl. The four additional shows that are available to those who pre-order are:
March 25, 2009 – Cain’s Ballrooom – Tulsa, Oklahoma
March 26, 2009 – Liberty Hall – Lawrence, Kansas
March 27, 2009 – The Pageant – St. Louis, Missouri
March 28, 2009 – Minglewood Hall – Memphis, Tennessee
UMBowl 2010 will be a unique interactive Umphrey’s McGee experience. This 4+ hour extravaganza will be unlike any other Umphrey’s event to date – the UMBowl will be a show for the ages!
The evening will be broken up into four quarters of music, each with a different interactive theme. The First Quarter will kick off with an acoustic set chosen entirely by attendees. The Second Quarter will showcase their successful Stew Art Series (S2). Q2 will be entirely improvised and driven by bi-directional text communication. The band will huddle and come up with a category which will be texted to UM’s own Offensive Coordinator Kevin Browning. The Third Quarter will be The All Request Quarter. The playlist for Q3 will be decided by fans in attendance. And for the Fourth Quarter, the fans in attendance are the quarterback. The band will begin a set of UM classics, and along the way, fans will be able to “call an audible” by texting in their vote as to which direction the band should go in.
