New Montenegrin PM in Belgrade
Montenegrin Prime Minister Igor Lukšić will confer with Serbian President Boris Tadić and Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic in Belgrade on Thursday. According to a release by the cabinet of the Montenegrin prime minister, Lukšić will pay an unofficial visit to Belgrade but will use the opportunity to hold an informal meeting with the top Serbian officials.
First Montenegrin extradited to Serbia
The Interpol office in Podgorica extradited Montenegrin citizen Bogdan Marković to Serbia on Monday. Marković is a native of the northern Montenegrin town of Pljevlja, against whom criminal proceedings have been instituted for criminal association and smuggling.
Montenegrin PM on Serbian Church property
New Montenegrin Prime Minister Igor Lukšić has said that he would initiate a dialogue regarding assets of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) in Montenegro.
He said that, although he himself was not a believer, in his capacity as the prime minister, he would “help make some radical forms of highlighting the marginalized problem”.

Brother of Montenegrin deputy PM remanded in custody
Montenegrin Deputy Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime Lidija VukÄević has remanded all arrestees in a Friday police action in Budva in a 48-hour custody.
In the early morning hours Friday, by order of the Supreme State Prosecutor’s Office, the police arrested ten persons, including Budva Municipal President Rajko KuljaÄa and Deputy Municipal President Dragan Marović, brother of outgoing Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister Svetozar Marović.
Montenegrin PM steps down
Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Äukanović “informed his DPS party” that he was stepping down as the countries prime minister today. The party then proceeded to nominated Deputy PM and Finance Minister Igor LukÅ¡ić as the PM-designate, reports from Podgorica said.
Montenegrin PM to step down?
Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milo Äukanović will resign next week, Podgorica-based daily Vijesti is reporting today. The article says that Äukanović’s ruling DPS party will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 21., when he is expected to announce his withdrawal from state offices.
President mulls joint diplomatic offices
Montenegrin President Filip Vujanović says his Serbian counterpart’s proposal to open joint diplomatic representative offices “should be closely examined”.
Vujanović said that the Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs will examine all matters that serve to increase the efficiency of diplomacy and good cooperation.

Montenegrin PM Milo Äukanović has stated that he will at some point step down from power and that he wants more free time for himself.
