British post-punk legends Echo & The
Bunnymen
have announced the North American leg of their acclaimed Crocodiles & Heaven
Up Here
tour. The band will be playing those two legendary albums in their entirety. The UK leg of the tour
saw the band play to rapturous sold out audiences. See a clip of them playing the Crocodiles track “Stars and Stars”
at Liverpool’s Olympia below.

Echo & The Bunnymen toured North America last year in support of their acclaimed album The Fountain.
They kicked off the run of dates with a thunderous performance at Coachella and stormed their way from coast to
coast.

Greensky Bluegrass & Cornmeal: East Coast Tour Dates

CO-HEADLINING TOUR BEGINS FEBRUARY 9 IN BUFFALO, NEW YORK

Kalamazoo’s Greensky
Bluegrass
and Chicago’s Cornmeal, are Joining forces for a five-night co-bill tour of the East Coast’s warmest
clubs. The bands will alternate nights of headlining.

Both acoustic units are currently touring off the release of new CDs, Greensky Bluegrass offering a limited-edition,
double live release All Access: Volume 2 and Cornmeal with Live in Chicago. Greensky Bluegrass is
offering a free download of “I’d Probably Kill You” from the double live disc here.

We are looking for a would-be journalist to spend three months of the summer working on the newspaper in London, writing about science and technology. Our aim is more to discover writing talent in a science student or scientist than scientific aptitude in a budding journalist.

After a wild 2010 that saw Phosphorescent release Here’s To Taking It Easy, tour the western world
multiple times over, and perform on The Late Show with David Letterman, the band is deservedly taking a
winter hibernation.

This break ends in April as Phosphorescent heads back out on tour for another spin around the globe, headlining
tours in both North America and Europe. Along the way Phosphorescent will perform at Coachella and the
Stagecoach music
festival, both in Indio, CA. In May the band will also perform at the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona, Spain.
Expect more summer festival announcements coming soon.

heading out on a headlining tour this spring in support of their latest release, Phosphene Dream. The tour
will kick off at One Eyed Jacks in New Orleans, LA, on March 31 and conclude with a home state stop in Dallas, TX, at
The Loft on May 21. In between these dates, they will also be performing at their third annual Austin Psych Fest,
which will take place April 29-May 1.

Classic car specialist publisher Hemmings has learned of a fascinating collection of photos showing ’59 Chevys (the model year in which the fins reached their zenith) being assembled at Tarrytown, New York, which closed in ’96 and is now just another concrete slab in that automaker’s chequered history.

Tarrytown exported some cars, it pops up in production lists as a source of both LHD and RHD units though a lot of Chevrolet exports of the era – particularly to the British Commonwealth – came from Oshawa, east of Toronto. That plant’s still going, too.

Taj Mahal have joined the
bill of their 21st Annual Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall on March 3, 2011. The Flaming Lips and Taj Mahal will join
an esteemed line-up of artists curated by artistic director Philip Glass. The bill to date includes Michael Stipe, The
Roots
, Patti Smith with Jesse
Smith and Michael Campbell, Angelique
Kidjo
and James McCartney.

The Tibet House US Benefit Concert commemorates the Monlam Prayer Festival traditionally held at the time of the
Tibetan New Year. The festival drew vast numbers of monks, citizens and pilgrims from all over the country who
gathered to pray for world peace and prosperity. Tibet House US is a non-profit organization founded in 1987 at
the behest of His Holiness the Dalai Lama that serves as a center for the preservation and presentation of the
endangered Tibetan culture.
