Office for Mac 2011 marks the return of Outlook for Mac and Visual Basic for Applications to the Apple desktop platform. The office suite, which is only available for Intel-based Macs running Mac OS X 10.5.8 or later, is scheduled to launch on October 26. It includes new versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint that have been updated with new image browsing and template creation features. The Outlook email client and information manager offers a consolidated view of email from multiple accounts, and can import Outlook for Windows .pst files, without requiring third-party tools. Included in the suite are access to the SkyDrive file sharing service from Microsoft or, for Office for Mac 2011 volume license customers, document sharing features via SharePoint Foundation 2010. Property firms up on office segment play

Shares of property firms with significant exposure to the office segment were up on Monday as investors were more upbeat due to rising office rentals and falling vacancy rates.
At 11:13 a.m., shares of Hongkong Land <HKLD.SI> were up 2.5%, City Developments <CTDM.SI> gained 2.3%, while Keppel Land <KLAN.SI> and CapitaLand <CATL.SI> rose 1% each.
“The rentals are up quite substantially compared to what the market expectations were. Therefore developers associated with the office space are gaining a lot of momentum,” said Vikrant Pandey, an analyst at UOB Kay Hian.

DTZ Research says the Singapore office market rebounded in Q3 2010 as rents grew across all districts.
Prime rents in Raffles Place rose 6.3% quarter-on-quarter (QOQ) to $8.40 per sq ft per month, following a 1.3% increase in Q2 2010. Average office rental values in other parts of the city centre saw a significant rental growth of 4.2% to 7.3% in the quarter after remaining unchanged in Q2 2010.
