A Perfect Circle

Rock On The Range is celebrating its Fifth
Anniversary. The festival, set for May 21-22 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, will feature a
spectacular lineup of rock heavyweights including A Perfect Circle (first performance of 2011), Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Korn, Stone Sour and Staind (first performance in two
years). The weekend will also be highlighted by performances from Danzig, Hollywood Undead, Bullet For My Valentine, Black Label Society and Alter Bridge. In addition, Juliya
of Fuse TV will return as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the event.

A special Rock on the Range ticket pre-sale will take place from Wednesday, February 9 at 10:00 AM (ET) through
Friday, February 11 at 10:00 PM (ET). For details on pre-sale, go to: www.facebook.com/rockontherange. Tickets go on sale to
the general public Saturday, February 12 at 10:00 AM (ET). Two-day weekend festival passes start at just $99.50
plus service and transaction fees. Layaway ticket purchase options are also still available for a limited time.

Bob Seger: 2011 Tour

TOUR BEGINS IN MARCH

Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band will launch a new tour “to major cities across North America” starting in March, Seger’s first time on the concert trail since his tour of 2006-07. The exact cities and dates will be announced shortly, although a map that flashes in a brief video on his web page shows Michigan, Ohio, Massachusetts, New York and Missouri. PLASTICS were once regarded as wonder-materials. They are still ubiquitous, but find less favour than they used to because of the very stability and persistence that won them plaudits in the first place. Persistence is not a quality to be desired in something that gets thrown away, and so much plastic is used in packaging, and in articles that are disposable, that many people now see conventional petrochemical plastics as a nuisance and a threat.

The search is on, then, for biodegradable alternatives. One possibility has recently been explored by David Schiraldi of Case Western Reserve University, in Ohio, and his colleagues.
