GRECO warns about financing of parties
The CoE Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) determined that there is almost no effective control over the financing of political parties in Serbia.
The group expressed hope that the new law on the financing of political parties will contribute to the solving of the problem.
DS, SNS parties “not negotiating”
Ruling DS party official and cabinet minister Oliver Dulić says that “at the moment there are no negotiations” between his party and the opposition SNS. “We are completely satisfied with the cooperation within the ruling coalition and I am certain that once the elections are over DS will first negotiate with its coalition partners,†Dulić told B92 late on Sunday.
Opposition parties argue over Constitution
The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) says it doubts the motives behind theSerb Progressive (SNS) initiative to change the Constitution.
The SNS said it pushed for a reduce to the size of parliament, but DSS believes it also aims to change the preamble which states that Kosovo is an integral part of Serbia.
Serbia has 75 registered political parties
Serbia now has 75 registered political parties, 42 of those set up by the country’s ethnic minorities, statistics show. 21 have headquarters in Belgrade, nine in Novi Sad, eight in Novi Pazaar, and six in the town of Subotica.
Kosovo parties form coalition
Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and New Kosovo Alliance (AKR) have reached an agreement to form future Kosovo government, it was announced in Priština.
LDK and AKR leaders Hashim Thaci and Beghjet Pacolli will work together on creating an efficient, transparent, democratic and multi-ethnic government, the announcement reads.

A little over a month before the early elections in Kosovo parties from central Serbia are habitually divided over whether they should take part. The elections for the assembly in Priština have been called for December 12, and are organized by the Kosovo Albanian authorities.
