Singapore’s Tiger Airways carries 22% more passengers in December

Singapore’s budget carrier Tiger Airways (TAHL.SI) carried 22% more passengers in December compared to the year-ago period, the company said on Monday.
Tiger Airways carried 555,000 passengers in December, up from 456,000 in the same month a year earlier, it said in a statement.

Tiger Airways has reported solid passenger volumes and load factors in December.

For the month of December, Tiger Air carried 555,000 passengers, a 22% increase compared to the same month last year. The average load factor across Asia and Australia for the month was 91%, an increase of 1 percentage point over December 2009.

SIA down on fewer passengers, cargo in Nov

Shares of Singapore Airlines <SIAL.SI>, the world’s second-biggest carrier by market value, fell as much as 1.6% this morning after it said it filled less space available on its planes for passengers and cargo in November, traders said.

The airline’s overall load factor in November was 70.1%, lower than the 71.1% recorded in October, and November 2009′s 72.3%.

Tiger Airways reports 34% increase in passengers in 12 months to November

Tiger Airways says it reported robust passenger volumes and load factors in November 2010, and further expansion of its fleet through lease extensions.

From December 2009 to November 2010, a total of 5.7 million passengers chose to fly with Tiger Airways, an increase of 34% over the 4.2 million passengers in the preceding 12 months. Average load factor for the 12-month period to November 2010 remained at 86%, an increase of 3 percentage points year-on-year.

Tiger Air reports 39% rise in passengers for 12 months to Oct

From November 2009 to October 2010, a total of 5.6 million passengers chose to fly with Tiger Airways, an increase of 39% over the 4.0 million passengers in the preceding 12 months. Average load factor for the 12-month period to October 2010 was 86%, an increase of 3 percentage points year-on- year.

For the month of October 2010, Tiger Airways carried 455,000 passengers, an 8% increase compared to October 2009. The average load factor across both airlines in Asia and Australia for the month was at 87%.

Having launched our biggest ever flying programme for the northern winter season, we look forward to further growth in the second half of the financial year. Tiger Airways Singapore has launched new services to Manila in the Philippines and to Trichy and Trivandrum in India, and Tiger Airways Australia has launched its new base at Avalon Airport, with new services complementing existing flights from Adelaide and Melbourne (Tullamarine). With new aircraft coming into the fleet, Tiger Airways Singapore will start services to Taipei in January 2011 and will continue to add frequencies to existing routes. Tiger Airways Australia will launch flights between Brisbane and Sydney in February 2011, allowing us to complete the coveted ‘Golden Triangle’ in Australia.”

Singapore’s Changi Airport raises fees for passengers, aircraft

Changi Airport Group, the company that runs Singapore’s airport, will raise the fees it charges airlines for handling of passengers as well as increase the price for landing, parking planes and aerobridge use, it said in an e-mailed statement today.

42 passengers die in Ukraine collision

The death toll in the Ukrainian accident involving a train that collided with a passenger bus has reached 42, including two children. Earlier it was reported 40 people were killed with 10 others in critical condition. Police have set the number of dead at 38.

Tiger Airways, the budget airline partly owned by Singapore Airlines, says from September 2009 to August 2010, a total of 5.5 million passengers chose to fly with the carrier, an increase of 47% over the 3.7 million passengers in the preceding 12 months. The average load factor for the 12-month period to August 2010 was 86%, an increase of 5 percentage points year-on-year.

Tiger Air reports 42% rise in passengers for July

Tiger Airways says it reported strong passenger volumes and load factors in July 2010. The number of passengers in July grew 42% over last year to 523,000. The average load factor across both airlines in Asia and Australia for the month was up 4 percentage points to 89%.

From August 2009 to July 2010, a total of 5.4 million passengers flew with Tiger Airways, an increase of 51% over the 3.6 million passengers who booked in the preceding 12 months.

Singapore Changi Airport handled 3.62 million passengers in June

Singapore’s Changi Airport handled 3.62 million passengers in June, 18.6% more than the same period a year earlier, the airfield operator said in an e-mailed statement today.

The airport received more than 20.2 million passengers in the first half of the year, 17% more than the same period a year earlier, it added.

Tiger Air saw 5.3m passengers from July 09 to June 10, a rise of 52% y-o-y

Tiger Airways Holdings says from July 2009 to June 2010, 5.3 million passengers chose to fly with the budget carrier, an increase of 52% over the 3.5 million passengers in the preceding 12 months.

Load factor for the 12-month period to June 2010 was at 85%, an increase of 5 percentage points year-on-year.

The number of passengers in June 2010 grew 39% over last year to 508,000. Load factor for the month was 86%.

Tiger Airways will release its financial results for the first quarter of the current financial year (quarter ended 30 June 2010) after close of market on Aug 5.

Tiger Airways says Feb passengers up 90% y-o-y to 437,000

Tiger Airways Holdings says it saw continued strong growth across both its Singapore and Australia operations in February 2010.

A total of 437,000 passengers flew with Tiger Airways in February 2010, a 90% increase over February 2009. Passenger numbers benefited from the addition of double daily services between Hong Kong and Singapore and strong demand during the Lunar New Year period, the Chinese “Year of the Tiger”.

Singapore airport says Jan passengers up 10%

Passenger traffic at Singapore’s Changi Airport, Asia’s fifth-biggest, jumped 10.1% in January from a year earlier, its highest monthly percentage rise since 2007, signalling a sustained recovery in air travel. 
 
Changi Airport Group said on Friday it handled 3.38 million passengers last month, up from 3.07 million passengers in January 2009 and nearly 9% higher than the pre-crisis level in January 2008.

Passenger traffic at Singapore’s Changi Airport, Southeast Asia’s biggest, rose for the fourth consecutive month in November as airlines increased flights to cities around the region.

Changi handled 3.37 million passengers last month, up 9.2% from 3.08 million in November 2008.

Singapore’s Changi Airport handled 3.36 million passengers in November, 9.2% more than the year before, it said in a statement e-mailed statement today. The airport received 33.4 million passengers between January and November, 2.4% less than the same period a year earlier, it said.
