Echo & The Bunnymen: North American Tour Dates

BAND WILL PLAY FIRST TWO ALBUMS IN THEIR

British post-punk legends Echo & The
Bunnymen have announced the North American leg of their acclaimed Crocodiles & Heaven
Up Here tour. The band will be playing those two legendary albums in their entirety. The UK leg of the tour
saw the band play to rapturous sold out audiences. See a clip of them playing the Crocodiles track Â“Stars and StarsÂ”
at Liverpool’s Olympia below.

Echo & The Bunnymen toured North America last year in support of their acclaimed album The Fountain.
They kicked off the run of dates with a thunderous performance at Coachella and stormed their way from coast to

heading out on a headlining tour this spring in support of their latest release, Phosphene Dream. The tour

JamBase Questionnaire: Tom Hamilton

Welcome back to JamBase’s baker’s dozen to the bright lights of the music world. Last time we heard from The Old Ceremony.

It takes an uncommonly open-minded musician to really grok the internal logic of utterly modern, untz-savvy rock and classic singer-songwriter fare, but Tom Hamilton is an uncommonly gifted cat. As the guiding light behind Brothers Past and American Babies, Hamilton shows a range of gifts – warmly charming singer, sharp songwriter, memorable guitarist, keen eared producer – seeming utterly at home in the post-Radiohead atmosphere of Brothers Past as he is plying pop-rock veins akin to Paul Simon and Wilco in the Babies. Hamilton always seems game to explore, be it in his own projects or collaborating with the likes of Younger Brother or The Disco Biscuits, all of which seems to fuel more colors and textures in each new chapter of his evolution.

A new American Babies album arrives later this year, and Brothers Past is currently experiencing a resurgence with active gigging and the monthly Everything Must Go live download series (check it out here), which just issued its fourth volume, a swinging, switched-on post-Phish gig from 2004 (available for the catering economy price of just $5 bucks!) that includes a boss cover of The Cure’s Â“Fascination StreetÂ” and other softly mesmerizing moments. What stands out about Hamilton’s work, wherever it crops up, is a totally engaged, often joyful engagement with the world and his craft. His music sends out tendrils into the void and what connections it makes can’t be predicted, only that new ties will be formed. (Dennis Cook)

How this is even still a question boggles my mind. The Beatles. It’s not even fair to ask. They’re mark on music is unparalleled, pushing the boundaries of every aspect of song craft, production and album art. They were responsible for new technologies in recording so George Martin and his engineers could keep up with their artistic needs. The Beatles inspired Bob Dylan to go electric, and they didn’t just change music but pop culture as a whole.

Lil Wayne’s I Am Music II tour will make stops at arenas throughout
North America this March and April, beginning with a show in Buffalo, NY on March 18, 2011 at the HSBC Arena,
concluding on April 29, 2011 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver with additional dates being announced soon.

Hitchcock has announced plans to team up with legendary producer Joe Boyd for an unprecedented
series of live performances. “Robyn Hitchcock & Joe Boyd – Live & Direct From 1967″ is a very special evening of
songs and stories, melding Hitchcock’s musical performances of songs produced by Boyd with Boyd’s own
reminiscences of his collaborations with such
iconic artists as Pink Floyd, Nick Drake, Fairport Convention, and Jimi Hendrix.

The tour will
feature readings from Boyd’s acclaimed 2006 memoir,
White Bicycles – Making Music In The 1960s. The run begins March 9 at The Birchmere in Alexandria,
Virginia, followed by visits to New York City, Philadelphia,
Detroit, Chicago, and North Adams, Massachusetts (full itinerary below).

Kaki King will return to her
acoustic roots this winter for a national tour that will make stops at renowned venues such as the Moma in New
York City, Yoshi’s in San Francisco and World Cafe Live in Philadelphia. In her 10-year career, King has released five
full lengths and two EPs. She has scored for television and film, most notably alongside Vedder and Michael Brook as
composers for Sean Penn’s Into the Wild for which she received a Best Original Score Golden Globe nomination.

King’s latest record, Junior, was released in April 2010 and featured King performing in a power rock-trio
configuration. This tour will feature only the guitarist as she performs in an acoustic format.

Ron Sexsmith has
announced the initial dates for his world-wide concert tour in support of his forthcoming album, Long
Player Late Bloomer. Beginning with a few scattered U.S. dates in February, the tour kicks off in earnest
in March in North America before heading to Europe in late April.

Long Player Late Bloomer will be released on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. A very special limited edition of the
album is now available for pre-order at www.ronsexsmith.com. This must-have limited edition collectable of the
album includes the CD of Long Player Late Bloomer as well as a DVD comprised of the CMT Canada TV
specials “Late Bloomer Long Player” (includes tracks not seen on the broadcast) and “Dakota Sessions.” The package
also includes a Ron Sexsmith lithograph. The first 200 fans ordering the package will receive signed lithographs.
Fans also have the option of pre-ordering the CD alone or Vinyl with a bonus CD. With all pre-orders, fans will

Produced by Bob Rock (Metallica, Bon Jovi and Michael Buble), Long Player Late Bloomer was
recorded in Los Angeles, Toronto and Vancouver during the winter of 2010. The album features a star-studded cast

“The Heart & Soul Tour.” Launching March 20, 2011 in Fort
