Bill and Melinda Gates announced at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, that their foundation would pledge about $10 billion over the next decade to help research and deliver vaccines to children in the developing world. The Gates Foundation estimated that the money could save as many as 8.7 million children over the next decade, at least based on a model developed in conjunction with Johns Hopkins.
