Chip Shot: Intel Powers Virtualization

Doug Fisher, VP of Intel’s Software and Services Group, highlighted two technology demonstrations at VMworld. The first gave attendees a look at the Client Virtualization Platform for VMware View, developed on Intel® vPro™ technology powered by our Core processors. This gives enterprise IT professionals a central management system without compromising performance or mobility. The second displayed the capabilities of the Intel® Xeon® Nehalem processor family, which reduces limitations in virtualizing large enterprise applications. The collaboration is bolstered by an agreement to make VMware vSphere 4 available to Intel’s small- and medium-sized business channel to accelerate virtualization adoption. Furthermore, BlueLock and hosting.com announced Intel Xeon architecture-based vCloud express services.
