Croat president on Tadić’s inauguration snub

Croatia’s president-elect Ivo Josipović, who is due to officially take over on Wednesday, spoke about Boris Tadić’s decision not to attend the inauguration. Josipović said he regretted the fact that Serbia’s president decided not to attend, and that he had “extended a hand to Serbia, hoping it would be accepted by Tadić”.

Yanukovych rules out Tymoshenko premiership

Ukraine’s president-elect Viktor Yanukovych said on Sunday he would not let his rival Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko remain on her post. Bu he also pledged to take into account the interests of her supporters, RIA Novosti reports.

Croatia’s President-elect Ivo Josipović told B92 Radio that he would be starting his presidency with “open and spread arms” ready for talks and negotiations. According to Josipović, Serbia “will sooner or later have to face the fact that some countries have recognized independent Kosovo and that relations with other countries should not be build based on their position about the status of Kosovo”.
