SNS has gathered one million signatures of citizens who are in favor of the holding of early elections, but the party’s leader says he is aware that the initiative itself will not lead to the vote.

Opposition Serb Progressive Party (SNS) leader Tomislav Nikolić said that over a million people have signed the petition for early elections. He said that SNS will submit the petition to the government in ten days.
SNS delegation visits Hungary
Opposition Serb Progressive Party (SNS) leader Tomislav Nikolić met in Budapest with opposition Fidesz party leader Viktor Orban.

Coalition agreement signed in Voždovac
SNS, DSS and New Serbia officials signed an agreement for forming the local government in the Belgrade municipality of Voždovac. The assembly speaker will be Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) official Milan Rajković, and his deputy will be Democratic Party of Serbia-New Serbia (DSS-NS) coalition official Marko Sarić, while the Secretary will be SNS official Danica Simeunović and DSS-NS official Branislav Nedeljković (DSS-NS) will be her deputy.

SNS: Serbia needs serious actions, not marketing tricks
The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) said that Serbia needs a serious fight against organized crime, not a marketing trick used by the government for promotion.
“SNS demands that government officials stop using the fight against organized crime to promote their parties and increase their ratings,†SNS official Marko Äurić said, regarding the Interior Ministry’s Morava action, in which over 500 people were arrested.
SNS official equates extremist group with Otpor
Speaking to B92, senior Serb Progressive Party (SNS) official Oliver Antić equated Otpor with the ultra-nationalists from the 1389 Movement. Antić, a professor at the Law Faculty and a member of the SNS Presidency, voiced his doubts over a possible ban on organizations that propagate violence, stating that they might just be being targeted because they were not to the government’s liking.
SNS: Further debts lead to problems
The Serbia Progressive Party (SNS) stated that the government is getting the country into more and more debt instead of solving economic and social problems. SNS legal team member Marko Äurić said at a press conference, that the government is claiming that it has found a universal recipe for every problem in taking out more loans and shoveling new debts on the shoulders of the citizens.
SNS calls for new elections
The Serb Progressive Party (SNS) stated that the best solution for getting Serbia out of “this deep parliamentary crisis†would be to announce new elections. SNS official Marko Äurić told reports at a press conference that the parliament’s explanations for postponing the voting on the 24 bills on the agenda, including the Public Information Law, are “unconvincing.â€
“Early elections have no alternative”
Serbia has no alternative but to go to the polls early, opposition Serb Progressive Party (SNS) Vice-President Aleksandar VuÄić stated on Friday. He said the postponement of a parliament vote on a controversial media law, and an agreement reached by the DS, G17 Plus and LDP, all show that the state is in a “total chaos†and that it is clear new elections must take place as soon as possible.
Zemun government constituted
The Zemun municipal assembly was constituted today after verification of new councilors’ mandates and the appointment of an assembly speaker and secretary. The new Zemun assembly speaker is Branislav Tutus from the Democratic Party of Serbia-New Serbia-National Party (DSS-NS-NP) coalition, while Života JoÄić from the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) member was appointed secretary.

He told Belgrade daily Danas that officials from his party had protested the arrest of Radovan Karadžić because of the manner in which it had been carried out.
