Pteris Global incorporates India unit
Pteris Global, one of the world’s leading companies that designs and builds baggage and air cargo handling systems, says it has incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary Pteris Global India in Mumbai. Pteris Global India was incorporated to facilitate the execution of the $53 million baggage handling system project for the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, also known as Mumbai International Airport. It will also serve the company’s future business needs in India.

Pteris Global posts $0.9m profit in 1H
Mainboard-listed Pteris Global, the integrated airport logistics systems provider, reported a profit of $0.9 million for the first half of 2010. This is a turnaround as the group incurred a loss of $0.7 million in the same period last year. Revenue increased by $7.6 million (17%) to $51.8 million in the first half of 2010. During the same period last year, revenue generated was $44.2 million.
Pteris Global wins $53m contract to build the baggage handling system for Mumbai Int’l
Pteris Global has won a $53 million contract by Mumbai International Airport Limited to design and build the baggage handling system for Mumbai International Airport Terminal 2.
Also known as Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, it is India’s busiest airport catering to 25 million passengers and 530,000 tonnes of cargo during 2008-09. It was voted the best airport in India (2008) by the Airport International Council, a body of operators which collectively manage over 1,600 airports worldwide.
Pteris Global awarded baggage handling system project in Chennai
Pteris Global says it has been awarded a baggage handling system project for Chennai International Airport, India. The project is scheduled to complete in June 2011.
The company also says it has received the Letter of Award for the Changsha Huanghua International Airport baggage handling system project announced on March 9.
The aggregate contract value for these two projects is $28 million.

The project is scheduled to start in April 2010 and is expected to be completed in May 2011. The company says it is currently negotiating the terms of the contract.

Rigbuilder Keppel Corp (KPLM.SI) will be in focus of investors’ radar today after it announced a US$1 billion ($1.4 million) project in Brazil yesterday, say Thomson Reuters.
Keppel, the world’s biggest oil rig builder, said on Monday it has won a $1 billion contract with a joint venture partner to build and operate a rig platform in Brazillian waters.
The contract is Keppel’s largest rig deal in over two years and will bolster the firm’s order book, which has been falling over the past year and stood at US$5.6 billion ($7.9 billion) at end-December.

Pteris Global says it has been awarded an $18 million contract to design and supply a Baggage Handling System and Container Handling System for Taoyuan International Airport City Access MRT System, Taiwan.
Pteris Global says this is the first downtown train station baggage check-in project that the company has successfully secured.
Pteris Global says rights issue 60.42% oversubscribed
Pteris Global says it has received subscriptions for a total of 213.5 million rights shares at the close of the rights issue exercise on Dec 3. This represents about 160.42% of the total number of rights shares available under the rights issue.
Pteris Global had on Nov 5 announced the non-underwritten 2-for-5 renounceable rights issue of 133.1 million rights shares at an issue price of $0.13 per share to raise gross proceeds of about $17.3 million.

Pteris Global wins $17m contract to build baggage handling system for Queen Alia Int’l Airport in Jordan
Pteris Global, one of the world’s leading providers of airport logistics systems, has been awarded a contract of $17 million to design and build the baggage handling system for Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, Jordan.
Scheduled to be handed over at end of year 2011, the baggage handling system can handle 9 million passengers yearly and will be installed in the arrival and departure systems.
