Ex-minister indicted in corruption case

A former Serbian transport minister has been indicted for abusing her official position, writes Belgrade-based daily Politika. Marija Rašeta-Vukosavljević and six of her former associates have been indicted by the Higher Public Prosecution in Belgrade for allegedly making illegal material gains in excess of RSD 1.5mn (some EUR 13,500) during 2003 and 2004.

Former FA president indicted

The Higher Public Prosecution in Belgrade has indicted former President of the Football Association of Serbia (FSS) Zvezdan Terzić and three of his colleagues. The four are suspected of illegally taking money from transfers of players to foreign clubs, said Higher Court Spokeswoman Dušica Ristić.

Investigation launched against “train attackers”

The Public Prosecution has submitted demands for an investigation into four men suspected of assaulting people on a train traveling from Belgrade to Lapovo. “The prosecution proposed custody for all of the suspects and they will be called before the investigative judge of the High Public Court during the day, who will decided on whether an investigation would be launched after the hearing,” Prosecution spokesperson Tomo Zorić said.

Prosecution to probe threats against DS MP

Public Prosecution Spokesman Tomo Zorić stated that the prosecution had requested a recording of an RTS talk show broadcast earlier this week. This came after reports that opposition New Serbia (NS) leader and MP Velimir Ilić had threatened the physical safety of fellow MP and ruling Democratic Party (DS) official Jelena Trivan.

Man convicted of threatening B92 journalist

Stefan Hadžiantonović of Belgrade was convicted before the First Municipal Court for making threats against B92 reporter Brankica Stanković. The proceeding was conducted under the indictment of the First Municipal Public Prosecution in Belgrade for endangering safety, since Hadžiantonović sent threats to the reporter on the social network Facebook.

Serbian prosecution indicts Kovačević

The First Municipal Public Prosecution in Belgrade indicted Miladin Kovačević for inflicting severe injuries to Bryan Steinhauer in May of 2008. Public Prosecution Spokesman Tomo Zorić said that Kovačević, who was studying in the United States, was accused of inflicting severe, life threatening, injuries to U.S. citizen Bryan Steinhauer during a bar fight on May 4, 2008 in the state of New York.

Canadian terror plotter sentenced to life in prison
