Dell Upbeat for Q4 Potential, While Q3 Profits Fall 54 Percent

Dell executives said they were counting on new business sales of PCs loaded with Windows 7 to boost sales in its fiscal fourth quarter after reporting on Nov. 19 that revenue had fallen 54 percent from the year ago quarter. Microsoft’s earnings are forecast to meet or exceed analyst predictions, but to be lower than the numbers it posted a year ago.
