Serbia will not indict Kosovo Albanian PM Hashim Thaci because he is beyond reach of the Serbian legal bodies, Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor Bruno Vekarić says.

“If someone is beyond reach of our legal bodies, it is not logical to institute a proceeding since it would be much alike a political trial. Moreover, it would be very difficult to execute justice in the absence of the defendant,” he told daily Blic.

Price hikes after farmers, dairy reach deal

Serbia’s largest dairy, Imlek, has announced an increase in the price of its UHT milk range starting November 20.
One liter of milk will therefore cost RSD 1.8 more, while other dairy product will be up to RSD 3 more expensive, according to reports.

Sembcorp Marine and Societe Generale reach full and final settlement

Sembcorp Marine says subsidiary Jurong Shipyard has reached an agreement with Societe Generale (SG) for a full and final amicable settlement of the disputed foreign exchange transactions.

Arising from this settlement, SG will make a payment of US$40 million ($53.1 million) to Jurong Shipyard.

Sembcorp Marine says the above settlement will result in a write-back of US$40 million and it will be taken up in its income statement in the third quarter of 2010.

The settlement with SG is also the last and final settlement with all the banks involved in the disputed foreign exchange transactions as amicable settlements have now been agreed with all the banks involved, says Sembcorp Marine.
