Eskamon (Amon Tobin & Eskmo) Announce “Fine Objects” Release

ESKAMON (AKA AMON TOBIN & ESKMO) ANNOUNCE “FINE OBJECTS” RELEASE
SET FOR APRIL 5
RELEASE ON ANCESTOR MEDIA

Eskmo

Eskamon is the new collaboration project between Amon Tobin (Ninja Tune)
& Eskmo (Warp, Planet
Mu) and the duo’s first single – “Fine Objects” – is set for release April 5 on Eskmo’s own imprint, Ancestor Media.

“Fine Objects” is the result of the pair’s unique take on sonic exploration and the manipulation of field recordings. From the onset, the two went out with a recorder, gathering sounds from around the house, yard and studio. Material recorded out of the studio included sounds from a parking garage elevator, a broken harp and the droning
tones from a discarded piano. These were combined with more home-centric sounds to form the central theme to
the song.

Musician, programmer, recording artist, beatsmith, dance floor commander, composer, sound designer, bad ass
motherf*cker. Amon Tobin is all of these things but most of all a forward thinker. Pushing forward and never
looking back has always been his focus. This is what gets him up in the morning and what keeps him up late into
night. Regarded as one of the foremost influential “experimental” electronic artists of the past decade, he has
released numerous singles and seven major studio albums under the mighty London-based Ninja Tune.

Brendan Angelides is a San Francisco-based electronic music producer who records and performs live as
Eskmo. In the past five years he’s released over a dozen singles and EPs while performing throughout North
America and Europe. In the past two years his multi-genre compositions have been released on influential labels
including Warp Records and Planet Mu, while also remixing works by diverse artists such as Bibio, Spor, STS9 and
Bar9. The newest Eskmo track – “Sister, You Have Got To Listen” is available for free exclusively at
www.amontobin.com

MP3 and WAV versions of “Fine Objects” available for purchase at on www.eskamon.com, www.amontobin.com and all the
usual digital retailer spots

Apple Issues iPad Video Tours Before April 3 Release

Apple has posted a series of Guided Tours videos for its iPad tablet PC on its official Website. Heavily reminiscent of Apples 30-second television spots for the device, the videos suggest that Apple wants to familiarize potential purchasers with the iPad’s functions and abilities, which may perhaps be unfamiliar to a population unused to multitouch tablet PCs. A leaked video, purportedly of the iPad App Store in action, shows an interface virtually akin to the existing App Store, with iPad applications selling for anywhere from Free to $49.99. Analysts have estimated that Apple sold nearly 120,000 iPads on the devices first day of preorder availability.

How To Write A Small Business Press Release Subject Line

Today it’s all about the subject line. After all, what’s so great about having a beautiful store if no one ever goes inside? The same can be said about a press release. You may have the most compelling, well-written small business press release. But if the subject line doesn’t capture their attention immediately and make them open the release, all that work is sitting on the curb. You can refer to the PR Toolkit for small business to find examples of other bad press releases.

Caribou Announces World Tour Release Swim 4/20

CARIBOU ANNOUNCES WORLD TOUR, MERGE RECORDS TO RELEASE SWIM APRIL
20

Caribou

Caribou is pleased is to
announce a world tour beginning in Manchester, England on April 19th. The North American leg of the tour will
begin on May 3rd in Toronto. Merge Records will release Swim, Dan Snaith’s new album, on April
20.

If there is a link to previous album, Andorra, it would be in the ravishing explosions of sound pulsing through album closer “Niobe.” A continuum of sorts leads us to 2010, but that finale gives mere hints as to the future Caribou. From
the opening effervescent gambol of “Odessa” to the glorious odyssey of “Jamelia,” it is crystal clear that Caribou has made a massive leap forwards, upwards and sideways. Swim is full of brightly textured, rapturous gems that gleam with astonishing production – and then wrenches at your heart with soulful, thoughtful reveries on the passing of time, family history and the breakdown of relationships.

This year will also see a dramatic difference in the Caribou live performance. Now that technology has finally caught up to Dan’s ambitions for the band’s show, while it will still be four musicians onstage, the dynamic interplay between visuals, electronics and the live sound is totally pliable.

The band can play the mix onstage like a dub mixer would – but even more so than a Lee Perry because almost everything can be manipulated – not just the things that are controlled on a recording studio mixing desk. They can get that washing-around feeling and the unpredictability of sounds undergoing changes all the time. They say it
takes a few years for the new century to kick in, here we go.
