Ex-KLAs in “written attack” on reporter

The Southeast Europe Media Organization (SEEMO) has condemned a written attack by an association of former KLA memebrs against journalist Halil Matoshi. Matoshi is a columnist for the daily Koha Ditore, the network of editors, media executives and leading journalists from South East Europe said in a statement on Tuesday.

Journalist threatened in Kosovo

The South and East Europe Media Organization (SEEMO) strongly condemned the threat allegedly made by a local businessman against reporter Visar Duriqi. The reporter is a correspondent for the daily newspaper Infopress in Priština, the network of editors, media executives and leading journalists from South East Europe and an affiliate of the International Press Institute (IPI) said in a statement.

B92 reporter receives UNS award

The 2010 Journalist Association of Serbia (UNS) Dimitrije Davidović Award for editorial work was presented to B92 journalist Ljubica Gojgić. The UNS Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Ivanka Bešević-Boreli, a retired Politika daily reporter.

Leading Russian reporter attacked

A leading Russian journalist for the Kommersant newspaper has been severely beaten outside his Moscow home. Russian media said Oleg Kashin was in hospital in an induced coma and police were treating the attack as a case of attempted murder.

B92 journalist Jugoslav Ćosić denied speculation Stanko Subotić aka Cane funds both him and the B92 media company. He said that a court process will be launched regarding the statements made by Montenegrin opposition leader Nebojša Medojević, adding that he did not make a mistake by letting Subotić call in and speak during a show he was hosting in which Medojević was the guest.
