Zhongmin Baihui Retail Group says all 30m new shares placed out at 30 cents each

Zhongmin Baihui Retail Group says all 30 million new shares were placed out at 30 cents each at its IPO. This represents 15.3% of Zhongmin Baihui’s enlarged issued share capital post-IPO.

The company owns and operates one of the largest underground shopping malls in Xiamen, Fujian province. The company also manages six other department stores in Quanzhou and Zhangzhou cities in the same province.

Point of sale is the place where a transaction takes place. A retail point of sales system usually includes a computer, monitor, cash drawer, receipt printer, customer display and barcode scanner. Point of sale software is used to calculate sales and operate the cash drawer. It sums up the sales total, figures the official sales tax, calculates the change back from the amount tendered and automatically adjusts the store inventory levels to debit the amount of inventory sold.

The National Retail Federation Convention and Expo officially kicked off Jan. 9 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. This year, the show rebounded from a dismal turnout in 2010, when concerns about the economy and sagging consumer sales kept many people from attending. This year, however, a feeling of cautious optimism circulated around the showroom floor as the economy begins to improve and customers slowly begin returning to stores. In response, many of the top IT companies, such as IBM, Oracle, Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Microsoft, Motorola and Intel rolled out large displays to demonstrate a wide range of technologies, including point-of-sale machines, CRM software, analytics and mobile devices. Singapore retail sales excluding vehicles rise for 13th month

Singapore’s retail sales excluding motor vehicles gained for a 13th straight month in November as rising wages and record tourist arrivals spurred spending.

The index measuring purchases excluding automobiles climbed 5.4% from a year earlier, after gaining a revised 5.6% in October, the Statistics Department said in a statement today. Including vehicles, which are sold subject to government caps, total retail sales fell 2.4%, matching the median forecast in a Bloomberg News survey of eight economists.

Zhongmin Baihui Retail Group to raise $9m from Catalist IPO

Zhongmin Baihui Retail Group, the Fujian-based departmental store operator, has launched its initial public offering (IPO) on the Catalist board.

The group will raise $9 million in gross proceeds through the offering, comprising 30 million new shares at 30 cents each. The shares are offered by way of placement. The new shares to be issued represent 15.3% of Zhongmin Baihui’s enlarged issued share capital after the IPO.

DBS to take over RBS’s China retail, commercial bank businesses

DBS Group Holdings, Southeast Asia’s biggest bank, said it will take over Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc.’s retail and commercial banking businesses in China.

RBS will transfer close to 25,000 clients in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen to DBS China, Singapore-based DBS said in a statement on its website today. No amount was disclosed for the transaction, which is expected to be completed within six months.

DBS says to take over RBS’ China retail, commercial business

DBS Group (DBSM.SI), Southeast Asia’s biggest lender, said on Wednesday it will take over British bank RBS’s (RBS.L) retail and commercial business in three Chinese cities.

“DBS Bank and RBS today entered into an agreement to transfer RBS’ retail and commercial banking customer base, business portfolios and related employees in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen to DBS China,” the Singapore bank said in a statement.

DBS Bank and RBS today entered into an agreement to transfer RBS’ retail and commercial banking customer base, business portfolios and related employees in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen to DBS China.

With this strategic agreement, DBS says close to 25,000 retail and commercial banking RBS customers in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen will be given the option to transfer their existing accounts and deposits to DBS China.

Singapore’s retail sales, excluding motor vehicles, gained for a 12th month in October as an influx of tourists and rising wages spurred sales at department stores.

The index measuring purchases excluding automobiles climbed 5.3% from a year earlier, after gaining a revised 5.2% in September, the Statistics Department said in a statement today. Including vehicles, which are sold subject to government caps, total retail sales fell 2.8%, worse than the median forecast for a 1% decline in a Bloomberg News survey of eight economists.
