CIOs Expect Hiring Gains in Q1 2010

Health care IT application development is expected to see the largest gains in project funding and hiring in 2010. However, network and Windows administration continue to be cited as the skills most in demand, which is consistent with hiring reports in 2009.

The Robert Half Technology annual salary guide is now out. Today, well list out a few of the IT job titles most affected by declining wages by national average. Vorex is combining a Web-based suite of solutions aimed at streamlining the HR operations of budget-conscious businesses. The solution, backed by Vorexs live support based in Dallas, includes hardware and software upgrades and maintenance and is available for a free trial via the companys Website. Samsung and The New York Times have teamed to offer Times readers a deal on the Samsung Go netbook. The Times’ offer is available only to new subscribers to the Times Reader 2.0 and will be available through March 2010. A Dell employee has gotten Chromium OS, the code behind Chrome OS that Google released to open source Nov. 21, to run on a Dell Mini 10v netbook. Despite numerous protests that a phone created and sold by Google would upset wireless carriers, Times Online reports that Google in 2010 will launch an advanced smartphone with a larger-than-usual touch screen and a speedy Qualcomm processor that trumps the one powering the iPhone 3GS.
