Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Fest 2010 Dates, Rumored Lineup

FREE CONCERT IN GOLDEN GATE PARK HITS 10TH ANNIVERSARY

Speedway Meadow in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park will once again come alive with the sound of lively pickin’ and sweet harmonies from October 1-3, 2010, when the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival returns.

While the official lineup announcement hasn’t been made, there are strong RUMORS floating around about this year’s performers. Take this with the appropriate grain of salt, but it does stir excitement to think of the following hitting the SF stage in October.

Microsoft’s Week: IE Vulnerabilities, Bing Upgrades and Rumored Apple Talks

Microsoft’s week involved patching a number of security flaws in Internet Explorer, which were apparently exploited in a wide-ranging attack against Google and dozens of other U.S. companies, and taking its Bing Maps Silverlight site out of beta. In addition, Microsoft was rumored to be in talks with Apple to possibly use Bing as the default search engine for the iPhone, perhaps a sign of increased tensions between Google and Apple as both companies attempt to gain and hold market share in the smartphone operating system space.

Apple Announces Launch Event, Rumored in Talks with HarperCollins

Apple will host a launch event for its latest creation in San Francisco on Jan. 27, in what many media and analysts expect will be the rollout for the long-rumored tablet PC. At the same time, several media outlets are reporting Apple in negotiations with HarperCollins Publishers, and possibly other publishing houses, to port content onto the hypothetical device. Although Apple has refused to officially confirm it is working on a tablet PC, months of rumors and analyst conjecture have driven chatter that the company is indeed developing something big.

Microsoft, News Corp Rumored In Talks to Delist From Google

Microsoft and Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp are rumored to be in talks over an agreement that would see News Corp’s news Websites delisted from Google search in exchange for payment by Microsoft. While Microsoft has declined to comment on the rumors, the Financial Times has suggested through an anonymous source that the talks are in early stages. Throughout 2009, Microsoft has been securing deals with Yahoo and other companies as part of a broad strategy to eat into Googles market-share.
