OKP secures $5.2m JTC project for construction and maintenance works at Tuas

OKP Holdings, the infrastructure and civil engineering firm, has secured its first contract win for the year — a $5.2 million contract from the Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) — for construction and maintenance works at Tuas South Avenue 12 and Tuas South Avenue 14 (Tuas View Extension – Phase 1).

The project was awarded to OKP’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Eng Lam Contractors Co., and is scheduled to begin in March and targeted for completion in June 2011. The scope of works includes construction and maintenance works of carriageways, drains and pipes, footpaths, traffic signages and street lightings as well as landscaping works such as turfing and tree-planting.

Ryobi Kiso’s unit jointly secures Vietnam piling contract worth $7m

Ryobi Kiso Holdings, the ground engineering and piling solutions provider, says its wholly-owned subsidiary Raffles Piling Vietnam Co. and Vietnamese contractor Binh Dinh Construction Co., a unit of Duc Khai Joint-Stock Company, has won a bored piling contract in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, worth over $7 million.

SICOM secures licence to roll out new commodity classes

Singapore Commodity Exchange (SICOM), a subsidiary of Singapore Exchange (SGX), has secured a new licence to operate a Commodity Market and Clearing House under the Commodity Trading Act, the only such licence currently issued by International Enterprise Singapore. This new licence is in addition to SICOM’s existing recognised market operator licence under the Securities And Futures Act.

Think Environmental secures $17.6m contract to build biomass power plant in Thailand

Think Environmental announced today that its subsidiary Industrial Power Technology (IPT), the leading specialist in the turnkey construction and integration of biomass power plants in Southeast Asia, has won a $17.55 million turnkey contract for a rice husk fired biomass power plant to be built in the Surin Province of Thailand for Surin Bio Power.

Under the letter of intent between IPT and Surin Bio Power, IPT will undertake the design, engineering (excluding civil works), supply, supervision, installation, testing and commissioning and initial start-up of the proposed power plant. The plant will have a capacity of 9.9 megawatts, enough to power over 10,000 homes.

ST Engineering’s land systems arm secures $29m naval gun contract from Brazilian navy

ST Engineering’s land systems arm, ST Kinetics, has won a contract worth US$20.9 million ($29.4 million) from the Brazilian Navy for the supply of five 40mm L70 naval gun and an associated Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) package.

CWT unit Indeco Engineers secures $30m maintenance contract with SAF

CWT says wholly-owned subsidiary, Indeco Engineers, has secured a contract with the Singapore Armed Forces to maintain military vehicles and equipment. The six-year contract for the maintenance services is estimated to be worth more than $30 million.

The contract requires proactive engineering, maintenance and management services such as maintenance scheduling, servicing and repair for a fleet of military trucks. The contract is effective from Jan 20.

Sinotel secures China Telecom maintenance contract

Sinotel Technologies, the provider of wireless telecommunications infrastructure and solutions in China, says the group has successfully won a maintenance contract from state-owned China Telecom. The contract, whose value was not stated, requires Sinotel to provide maintenance services to 183 stations, consisting of repeaters and indoor wireless coverage systems in Shanxi province.

Transview secures exclusive rights to distribute the Skins apparel in region

Mainboard-listed Transview Holdings, the retailer and wholesaler of golf products, says wholly-owned subsidiary, Transview Lifestyle, has signed a distribution agreement with Skins International Trading AG based in Switzerland for the exclusive rights to market and distribute the well-known Skins products in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan from today.

Keppel says secures rig contract from Saudi Aramco

Keppel Corp (KPLM.SI), the  world’s biggest offshore rig maker, said on Wednesday it has secured a contract from Saudi Aramco’s (SDABO.UL) unit to build a jackup rig. 
 
Keppel did not provide the value of the deal, but expects the rig to be delivered in the second half of 2012.

United Fiber secures $191m condo building contract from GuocoLand Group

United Fiber System says wholly-owned subsidiary Poh Lian Construction has been awarded a building contract from the GuocoLand Group to build a 12-storey condominium development at Bukit Timah Road.

The project is worth $191 million and the construction period is 30 months.

The project is expected to contribute positively to the group in 2010.

Boustead’s energy engineering division secures $68m in latest oil & gas contracts

Boustead Singapore says its energy-related engineering division has secured $68 million in contracts from the oil & gas industries globally.

The contracts involve the design, engineering and construction of key process equipment for oil refineries, petrochemical and gas processing plants in Australia, Brazil, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.

Stamford Land Group secures $124m in financing facilities

Stamford Land Corporation says the company and its subsidiaries have successfully secured A$100 million ($124 million) in financing facilities including an A$80 million three-year cash advance facility from OCBC Bank and an A$20 million, three-year term loan and guarantee facility from ANZ Bank. The facilities are not expected to result in any material impact on the net tangible assets or earnings per share of the company, for the financial year ending March 31, 2010.

Keppel Corp says secures $214m contract

Keppel Corp (KPLM.SI) said today it has won US$152 million ($214 million) contract from Noble Corporation to upgrade and repair a drillship. 
 
The deal follows Keppel’s securing of a contract to upgrade two other drillships from the same company in late November. 
 
Keppel is the world’s largest rigmaker based in Singapore.

KSH secures 2nd NUS project worth $40m

KSH Holdings, the construction, property development and property management group, says it has secured its second project this year from the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Thie contract is worth $40.3 million and is for the construction of a four-storey Education Resource Centre (ERC) at the NUS University Town.

Under the contract, KSH will start construction works on the ERC, which consists a block of four-storey building, as well as a block of lecture theatre. Also included in the contract are external works comprising sewers, driveways, drains, covered walkways, landscape garden, and roof garden.

Swiber secures Myanmar offshore installation project worth $107m

Swiber Holdings, the provider of offshore offshore engineering and marine support services for the oil and gas industry, says that it has signed a Letter of Award with a Myanmar oil and gas company for a contract worth US$77 million ($106.5 million).

Under the deal, Swiber will install gas pipelines totalling 150km in length. The six-month project is expected to start in the 1st quarter of 2010 with the date of completion targeted for the 2nd quarter of 2010. Preparation work will begin in December.
