New Century Shipbuilding, the Chinese shipbuilder which canceled a share sale in Singapore last May, is seeking at least US$1 billion ($1.28 billion) in a Hong Kong initial public offering, two people familiar with the matter said.

The company, based in Jingjiang in eastern Jiangsu province, aims to list in Hong Kong in the first half of this year, said the people, who declined to be identified because the information is confidential.

Sri Trang said to seek $361m in Singapore sale: Update 2

Sri Trang Agro-Industry Pcl, the best performer on Thailand’s benchmark stock index last year, wants to raise about $280 million ($361 million) from a share sale in Singapore, according to a term sheet obtained by Bloomberg News.

Sri Trang, Thailand’s biggest publicly traded rubber producer, will sell as many as 280 million shares to individual and institutional investors, according to a prospectus sent to the Monetary Authority of Singapore today. The company in August delayed the sale, citing “volatility” in global equity markets.

American International Group Inc., the bailed-out insurer, is seeking as much as HK$115.3 billion ($19.6 billion) in an initial public offering of its Asia unit in Hong Kong, two people with knowledge of the matter said.
 
The company plans to sell as many as 5.9 billion shares of AIA Group at HK$18.38 to HK$19.68 each, said the people, who declined to be identified because the discussions are private. The offering represents a stake of about 49% of the company, the people said, which would value Hong Kong-based AIA at as much as $30.6 billion ($40.3 billion).
