Verizon Sells 250,000 Motorola Droid Phones in First Week

Verizon Wireless and Motorola sold 250,000 units of the Motorola Droid smartphone in its first week, compared to the 1.6 million units of the iPhone 3GS Apple and AT T sold in its first week, according to mobile analytics firm Flurry.
Apple launched its handset in eight countries at the same time; the Droid launched in the U.S. only. Flurry said Verizon’s aggressive campaign coupled with its 3G network advantage positions the Droid as a legitimate challenger to the iPhone.

Windows 7 Sells Well, but Microsoft Isn’t Out of the Woods Yet

Microsoft’s Windows 7 sold well in its first few days of release, according to an analyst report, but declining revenues and suggestions of a slow-paced tech refresh suggest that Microsoft could face at least a few more quarters of stagnant revenues as it seeks to recover from the massive economic recession. Microsoft
received a bit of good news this week when a report by NPD Group suggested that
early sales of Redmond’s new
operating system had exceeded those of Vista during the
same timeframe by a fairly impressive 234 perc…

AEM Holdings says wholly-owned unit AEM Platronics (S) has entered into a conditional option agreement to sell its factory unit at 7 Woodlands Walk in Woodlands East Industrial Estate to KSB Singapore (Asia Pacific) for $3.1 million.

The proposed disposal is in line with the streamlining and restructuring plans of AEM Holdings to reduce its overheads.

Google earlier this month sold its $1 billion stake in AOL for $282 million, confirming the search engine giant’s concerns from a year ago that its investment was impaired.
