Serbian delegation to PACE to support Marty’s report

Head of the Serbian Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Dragoljub Mićunović says the delegation will support Dick Marty’s report.

He adds that the Serbian delegation will also oppose any amendments that could diminish the significance of the document.

Deputy PM: EU bid progress not halted

The Dutch parliament decision still does not mean that Serbia’s progress toward the EU will be halted, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Božidar Đelić said.

He told Belgrade daily Blic that a Serbian delegation would make an effort to “unfreeze” Serbia’s candidacy bid on October 25 in Luxembourg.

Tadić at UN General Assembly session

Serbian President Boris Tadić will lead a Serbian delegation at the 65th session of the UN General Assembly in New York from September 20-25. During the General Assembly session, Tadić will have several bilateral meetings with presidents, premiers and foreign ministers of the UN member states, the President’s Press Service announced.

Serbia-IMF on unfreezing of salaries

The Serbian delegation and a delegation of the IMF will today reached final agreement on the unfreezing of public sector wages. Salaries and pensions will go up in January 2011 and not as it was previously stated in April 2011, Economy Minister Mlađan Dinkić said.

Deputy Prime Minister Božidar Đelić said that the Serbian delegation will be one of the first to meet with new EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele. Đelić told B92 that the Serbian delegation will be the first delegation of a country striving for EU candidate status that will be meeting with Fuele immediately after he takes over for Olli Rehn as the new EU Enlargement Commissioner.

DS official: Dialogue between Serbia, Holland important

Democratic Party (DS) official Dragoljub Mićunović said that the Serbian delegation’s visit to the Dutch parliament began an important process of dialogue. Mićunović, who led the delegation, told B92 that even though the stances of the two countries continue to differ regarding Belgrade’s level of cooperation with the Hague Tribunal, the dialogue between Serbian and Dutch parliamentary officials is encouraging.

Russia to approve billion dollar loan to Serbia

Serbian and Russian Presidents Boris Tadić and Dmitry Medvedev have agreed on the details of a USD 1bn Russian loan to Serbia. The Serbian delegation told FoNet that USD 200mn would go to the state budget, while the expert teams from both countries would decide what to do with the rest of the loan.

Tadić meets with Diaspora reps in Cleveland

President Boris Tadić is in the U.S., heading the Serbian delegation until September 26 at the 64th session of the UN General Assembly. Tadić began his trip in Cleveland today by meeting with representatives of the Serb Diaspora in the U.S. and the Ohio National Guard.

Serbia edging closer to IMF agreement

The International Monetary Fund stated that it has made progress in talks with the Serbian delegation, but that a general agreement has not been reached yet. The talks will continue, especially regarding the 2010 budget, according to a statement from the IMF.

Serbian delegation in Shanghai today

The Serbian delegation being led by President Boris Tadić, currently on an extended visit to China, will be visiting Shanghai on Saturday. The delegation will be meeting in Shanghai to discuss cooperation in modern industries, such as electronics and information technologies, according to Economy Minister Mlađan Dinkić, who is a member of the delegation.
